At present it is not allowed due to the license implications: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=490754#post490754

Without scanning through that whole thread about it, what exactly does this hack do? :)

that was a great discussion, it grows to 25 pages in just a few days. it's Vb.org most impressive record

it makes it where registered users can request to have a sub forum created for them, where the user is is like the admin of that sub forum...can change the styles for that forum only, make sub forums under it, admin the forum its been allowed to have...
its a great addon...

I don't see why that would be disallowed...

The argument on the part of Jelsoft was that it could be used to effectively sublicense vB which is against the spirit of the license agreement (although I could see a good laywer easily making the point that it is not in a technical violation of the license--and Jelsoft has not changed the license agreement due to the hack).
Just as with any piece of software, it could be used for ultimately unlawful purposes, at least in Jelsoft's mind.

That's... pretty lame. Although I haven't looked into all of the hacks features, not that I could anymore, I don't know. But, basically it's just a standard thing, isn't it just the same to add a Moderator and let him control one forum? And that's built in, so are they going to block one of their own features? :p

I'm not here to debate it, I am simply stating what happened with that thread and its corresponding hack.

The other thread was closed because it was going around in circles, is there a need to do it all again in a new thread? Come on guys give it a break! Jelsoft will make an announcement when the issue has been sorted out.

There isn't going to be any further announcements on this topic. :) The decision has been made, although Jelsoft are apparently checking their licensing agreement with lawyers to ensure it covers desired usage restrictions. If the latter isn't covered, you go figure what will follow in due course without any special announcement.
A moderator might as well close this thread now. :D

Yeah, i'll close it now, as trafix and Logician already said, this would lead to nothing.
Also please remember this is a Jelsoft descission, not done by the vb.org Staff, so it wouldn't help to ask us about that, the only ones who know more about the situation are Jelsoft employees on vb.com

At this time, NO the hack is not allowed here. If this decision changes, we will notify you.
