A little history. I have two vB2.x sites running now, which are just straight forums, nothing really crazy going on there. As as result of running these, I am a HUGE fan of vB. Now a few months ago, I started up a fan site for one of the local sports teams. Since it has both news content and the forum, and we thought it would stay pretty small we just installed postnuke w/ phpbb. So I really don't like phpbb, but hey it was free and easy to throw up with the nuke mod. So I've had my fill of phpbb and would love to get the site over to vB3, as it looks like another quality product.

My main trouble is this, the phpbb mod we are using relies upon the postnuke userinfo table for login and everything, so it sounds to me like the standard phpbb conversion script will not work. I realize from searching/lurking on this forum that most people here are not fans of postnuke, but I'm kinda married to it at this point. Unless of course, 1. I can find a better cms system which behaves like postnuke. I don't really have any crazy modules going or anything like that. As a matter of fact, it's a pretty stock install. Or 2. I can find a mod for vB to integrate into postnuke.

Now I've been searching around the forum here, and I really dont' think that vBindex will fit out needs, as it just doesn't look like it will fully work.

Can someone make a recommendation as to which way to proceed? I think the option 2 of having a vB mod for postnuke would work well, as there does seem to be some requests for it. Again though, I'm open to ideas.

You might consider a hack to integrate PostNuke's user system into vBulletin. vBulletin's user management offers more features.

Hmm, that may be an interesting idea. I just hope I can get some Nuke guys to take a look at it, of course I might be able to make *some* progress, but I have only glanced at the nuke code.

Thanks.
