Coppermine Gallery 1.21 and vBulletin 3.0.0 Integration
Version 1.0
Compiled by SpeedStreet
I'm not the hacker for this; I am merely the guy who poured through all of the threads on vBulletin.org and the Coppermine Development Forums to come up with one definitive post about integrating vBulletin with Coppermine.
WHAT IT DOES:
At the end of this how-to, you're installations of vBulletin and Coppermine will work together off of the same login. While everyone else wants to see all sorts of integration between the two, I believe this is the first step to making those things happen.
CREDITS:
A big thanks to everyone over at Coppermine for a terrific product and the users that support and mod it on a daily basis. I am merely standing on the shoulders of giants here, folks. Also, Nanobot was the guy over there that did the vB3 Gamma bridge, so the credit for that is all his.
FILES TO EDIT (2):
/bridge/vbulletin3.inc.php (Coppermine)
/include/init.inc.php (Coppermine)
HACK REQUIREMENTS:
vBulletin 3.0.0 Installed and Running
Coppermine 1.2.1 Installed and Running
5 Minutes of your time
SUPPORT THREADS:
Coppermine Gamma Thread (original thread): http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2370&start=30&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
vBulletin.org Hack Thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=488062
Coppermine vB 3.0.0 Thread: http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/board/viewtopic.php?p=20674
FINAL WARNINGS:
There are seem to be some issues with people integrating this with forums located on subdomains (e.g. subaruforums.speedstreet.org). Please reference the Coppermine Gamma Thread above for more info.
Please ensure that Coppermine and vBulletin cookies are NOT named the same thing.

when you say ensure the cookies are not named the same thing.. exactly what do you mean?
for instance, my ".domian.name" cookie would be the same between the two of them.. what is it expecting the name to be or the issues with the cookie itself?

just leave the cookie in coppermine the same. People have said that if you try naming them the same thing, then neither cookie will work right.
Currently, I have my cookie on vBulletin gogin to .speedstreet.org and my cookie from Coppermine going to /.
Of course, you can always try to link the two together, and change back if you have issues.
PS: I would be interested in working with others on additional hacks specifically for Coppermine and vBulletin. if you are interested, PM me and I will see about putting together some sort of group for us.

OK, this is the first time installing Coppermine and integrating with vBulletin Gold. INtegrstion worked fine and all seems to be working. However, I would now like to progress further with this and try to integrate this more into my forum.
Speeedstreet, I would be interested in forming a group so that we can hopefully develop Coppermine and vBulltin gold into something a lot more than what we have now.

Nope..no luck with this...I upgraded from RC3...worked fine until I got on Gold. Any problem I might have over looked?
The problem more than likely is:
A) Wrong license number
B) You didn't edit init.inc.php to reflect the new file
C) You have renamed your vB tables with a different prefix
Its tough for me to help without knowing what the exact problem is.

That's correct, ap0c! The existing hack that is on coppermine's website is exactly the same.
This thread was merely a composite of the little fixes and tweaks on their site, plus the addition of an easy to use howto for those coming to coppermine for the first time.

Hi SpeedStreet,
I tried to integrate CPG1.2.1 with VBGold. I don't have a standard database name had to use what my ISP provided. I do have a running gallery but received "Fatal error: There was an error while processing a database query".
I'm not sure what info you want to see to help.
I replaced the section here with my database name and remove the slashes,
// define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'mydbname');
Is that correct?
Thanks
rocket98
** addition
I may have solved my own issue on this line in vbulletin3.inc.php
// ------------------------------------------------------------------------- //
// Nothing to edit below this line
// ------------------------------------------------------------------------- //
// Prefix and names for the database tables
define('VB_TABLE_PREFIX', ''); // Leave empty, not supported by vBulletin 2.3
I simply added my database prefix and it seems to work. If I click login I get back to vbadvanced homepage where i don't yet have a link to head back to the gallery. Is that correct behaviour. Possible login/logout message in the gallery can just be removed and a link placed there for access back and forth to home page and elsewhere.
Thanks

Nothing.
It does not port the user database from one onto the other. It simply links the two together, and tosses out the Coppermine userdb.

Help for a newbie please, I have both vbulletin gold and coppermine 1.21 installed and I thought I had installed this intergration modification as well?
I have the gallery working and it appears by looking at my db that I have only one db, so I am assuming that i have installed coppermine intergrated with vbulletin. I have edited the files as per this modification
Now after all that, I have to login seperately for vbulletin and coppermine :( Am I to assume that I have not installed coppermine correctly?
Please and thank you

Coppermine should be installed to the vb database. When you log in to coppermine and click on user profile, does it take you to your forums userprofile page?
If it is, then you probably need to change the name of the cookie coppermine is using. If it isn't, then you likely need to re-check the edits you made to the intergration files.
**edit, I am work so I cant log in to my forums database but I believe one of the tables coppermine sets up is labelled as albums. You could check yoru forums db to see if thats in there as a way of double checking that coppermine was installed to the right db.

it appears that i have not integrated coppermine correctly, because when i hit user profile, it goes to coppermine and not vbulletin.

so back to the drawing board for me lol

random quote of yours:D
I figured out why I didnt have to update any files in coppermine, (the init, or bridge file.) I use f5hosting.com , nanobot released a vbulletin.inc.php file on there after rc1 was released. Why the gamma version is still being used on coppermine is probably an oversite. http://www.f5hosting.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1351&page=1

Yeah :) It's time to focus on good, pure innocent hacks versus the drudgery of that "other" conversation I've been talking legalese in.
Is Nanobot ok with the hack being released here? I couldn't find contact information, and GauGau from Coppermine loved the condensed how-to.

Sasuke,
This hack is for vB3 Gold. Please refrain from posting legacy hacks for outdated Release Candidates.
AE Silver AE,
This hack has the kinks worked out of it....any minor little glitch has to deal with Coppermine. The hack provides the exact effect it is supposed to have.
Nothing.
It does not port the user database from one onto the other. It simply links the two together, and tosses out the Coppermine userdb.
when I click on the users link, it goes to a 404. the file usermgr.php is there though, so I assume one of the includes is borked? I am expecting to see a userlist similar to the group list i see when I click on groups in the admin bar.
I also am now having troubles adding albums as an admin. a test user had it work great.
I think there are still some cookie issues too... here is my setup and the symptoms:
vbull location is www.mysite.com/forums
vbull cookie prefix is vbull
path to save is /
domain to effect is blank
coppermine location is www.mysite.com/jdgallery
cookie name is cpg11d (prefix = name?)
path is /
When users go to board, they are logged in, everything works great. When they go to gallery, it says they are logged out. If they refresh the page they are shown as logged in. When administrating the board, it seems like everything will go fine, then after the third or fourth save theres a permission denied error and i need to go back tot he site and then return back to the gallery and refresh to show up as logged in again to continue administrating.
I also have the issue with admins no longer being able toa dministrate. At first, all was working well, then when I tried to make some albums, I lost all admin priviledges.
Hope we can get this worked out, it seems like its really close to at elast having full user/group integration, which is what I think is most important. CSS and style integration will come with time I'm sure.

well, the bridge to vbulletin is pretty simple to use. All what i made was create a vbulletin powered page with a IFRAME pointed to the coppermine gallery.
You can create you vbulletin powered page, following the instruction on this thread:

If you want, i can give you my template for the gallery pages. Just send me a PM.

My integration of Vb-3 and Coppermine survived the upgrade from Gold to VB3.01, but there is one small issue left to fix. When I log out from the gallery there is a VB error, it requires an extra click to log off. This was happening on my forums too after the upgrade but I fixed it with help from this thread at the VB community forum;
See this thread here. (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102599&highlight=error+occurred+attempting+out.+Click)
Is there anyway that someone can work this fix into the bridge file for Coppermine? I don't know enough about php to attemp that myself.
Tia,
Chas.
OK, i did some scouring and came up with the following fixes to some of our issues.
To solve the board confusion with having to refresh to stay logged in and out, go into forumdir/includes/config.php and change the cookie prefix to ''
To get rid of the HTTP notices, follow the instructions in this link:
http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/board/index.php?topic=5191.msg22808#msg22808
if your users link in coppermine returns a 404, go into the vbulletin3.inc.php file and search for admincp, and replace it with what your admincp directory is renamed to.
The remaining issues I am having are as follows, and i posted this int he vb3 gold integration thread as well:
if a user sets the permissions on a user album to a specific group, it locks out admins, but admins can still view images from that group.
if a user sets the permissions on a user album to a specific group, members that have that group as a secondary group cant view the album.
when logged into coppermine as admin, the usermode link just says its taking you out of admin mode, and puts you right back into admin mode.
Buddha

i've had a few issues as well, but was able to fix everything and it all works like a charm now... fully integrated.
the one thing that kept me puzzled for a while was the fact that in admin mode i could upload pics but in usermode i could not. seems i had not set the album properties to allow me to do so... once i did that, i was cooking. everything works great now.
Buddha, do you use any groups outside of hte traditional vBull groups, and are you using secondary groups at all?
How are your forums and gallery organized? www.website.com/forums and www.website.com/gallery?

ohgeetee, i have like, 4 or 5 extra groups on my forum... i have a dummy tester account that i created and whenever i make changes, i use that account and test by changing the usergroups on that account... and i was able to do everything with that account as well as mine after i'd configured the usergroups in coppermine first.
as for where they are installed...
subdomain.domain.com - forum (in a subdomain)
subdomain.domain.com/gallery - coppermine (it's installed in a folder within the root of the forum install)
will_lean... use the 'extra pages powered by vB hack'... link is in this thread. then in the main table where the content goes, insert an iFrame. worked perfect for me.

I have CP and vB installed on the same database and when I check the tables of CP it doesn't show as if it has been integrated. What could be the problem?
Thanks,

What I meant by "integrated" is the user table. If the integration was succesful then when you look at the CP user table then you should see the vB user's. Basically what is happening is when I click on the gallery it goes to it and doesn't give me any admin options. I'm trying to figure out if it's a cookie problem(domain is set to .mysite.com and cookie path is /) or did I miss something that's been updated that I need to download.

I'm not sure if this will fix any other issues, but for those with VB 3.0 and the included vbulletin30.inc.php running the 1.3 beta of Coppermine, I have figgered out the issue with not having the system recognize you as being logged in from the VB side of the house.
Basically it is a simple change in the naming of the cookie information that VB uses.
Follow along with me:
in the vbulletin30.inc.php find the following:
// The web path to your vBulletin Board directory
// In this example http://yoursite_name.com/vbulletin3/
define('VB_WEB_PATH', '/vbulletin3/');
directly below that add the following:
// Enter your VB 3.0 Cookies prefix if applicable
// This was defined in your Vbulletin config.php file when you installed VB
// Double-check this to be sure you don't have one
define('VB_COOKIE_PREFIX', '');
Then find the following lines:
if (is_array($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS)) {
$sessionhash = isset($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS['sessionhash']) ? $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS['sessionhash'] : '';
$bbuserid = isset($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS['bbuserid']) ? $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS['bbuserid'] : 0;
$bbpassword = isset($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS['bbpassword']) ? $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS['bbpassword'] : '';
}
and replace it with the following (the quick ones will notice the difference immediately):
if (is_array($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS)) {
$sessionhash = isset($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS[VB_COOKIE_PREFIX . 'sessionhash']) ? $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS[VB_COOKIE_PREFIX . 'sessionhash'] : '';
$bbuserid = isset($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS[VB_COOKIE_PREFIX . 'userid']) ? $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS[VB_COOKIE_PREFIX . 'userid'] : 0;
$bbpassword = isset($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS[VB_COOKIE_PREFIX . 'password']) ? $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS[VB_COOKIE_PREFIX . 'password'] : '';
}
I haven't yet figgered out the logout error yet, but I will.
FYI: This is based on an installation of VB 3.0.1 and Coppermine 1.3.0 Beta 4 using the following directory structure and cookie structure:
http://yourdomain.com/forum/
http://yourdomain.com/gallery/
VB cookiedomain: www.yourdomain.com
VB cookiepath: /
Gallery cookie name: *something other than what VB is using*
Gallery cookiepath: /
Hope that this helps.
Enjoy!

Okay, before I step all over anyone else's toes I need to know, is anyone working on a full integration between these two?
If not I would like to spearhead one, as I will be doing it as of tonight for my forums as copperhead is exactly what I've been looking for for a long time for my site.
If I do not receive a response by Friday I will assume that there is no one doing it, and I will start on it.

I think there might be a couple of people working on this allready. I vaguely remember seeing something about it on here in the last couple of days! As of right now I'm working on doing this but I'm fairly new to vb and php so it will take me some time to do it. If I have any breakthru's in the next couple of days I will post them so hopefully it will help other's wanting to do this also.

will this work with Coppermine 3 beta 4 and ofcourse vbulletin 3.0.1? Thanks!

Hi There,
I am trying to integrate coppermine 1.3.0 beta4 into my vBulleting 3.01 installation.
So far so good - I have followed all the instructions for configuring the bridge and authentication is working fine - when I click the login button it authenticates me against my vbulletin details and then I appear logged on as that user in coppermine.
This leads me to believe that all the linkages between the two are working perfectly.
Prior to integrating the two solutions I created sample albums (both as an admin and regular user) and I could upload pictures perfectly (or at least after messing about with directory permissions).
Now the two are integrated I get a strange error when I click the upload file link in coppermine. Instead of getting the page asking me to browse files or enter URLs I get valid page back - but instead of including the form - the page contains a table whose heading is 'Error'
The message centered in the table is
Invalid action for form creation.
Anyone have any ideas ?
A few more bits of info.
IIS 6.0 on Win 2003 server
manual PHP 4.3.6 running via ISAPI filter with GD2 extension enabled.
I am certain somebody will know how to fix this - my users are very eager to upload.
Kind Regards
Ian.

Worked perfectly... best hack yet... some of you people having trouble with members uploading pictures, try editing the album properties and choose YES to upload pictures... this a whole different thing from editing the user group permission... you have to do both...
BTW, any ideas how to integrate the navbar?

ok big problem...
coppermine 1.2.1
vbulletin 3.0.1
coppermine is installed vb is up and running (has been for ages) coppermine is installed into vbulletin database.
I click on the login i get redirected to the forum , so I made the hack change as describe a page back..I still get the same problem.
If i try to do anything coppermine tells me that I don't have any rights but the intergration seems ok..
thing is I don't know enough about the new vb or coppermine to work out whats up.
Is it possible to have a link in the Users Profile to there private gallery? If so, how to do that?

Yes, I've got vb3.0.1 and cpg 1.3 integrated.
My site is still under construction but you can check it out at http://www.cbdpeople.com.au/gallery/

Im running an integrated 1.2.1 Coppermine with Vb 3.0.1 flawlessly for while now. I just recently decided to make some of my albums "members only" which seems to be doing the trick for getting people to register.
The problem is when someone registers for the first time they do so thru VB obviously. When they are done registering it it brings them back into the forum as normal and they are recognized as registered on the 'forum' but not the Coppermine board. In order for Coppermine to take, they have to log out & then log back in. After they have done that everything is cool.
Any ideas on a fix? whether it be a forced logout on the Vb side or a cookie on the CM side?
thanks in advance

Alright - I've got a question. Last time I tried to do the Coppermine migration, it complained that you can't have usernames with spaces in them, and can't have complex passwords (with non alpha-numeric characters). Is this still the case? My one site requires first & last name as username, and many have complex passwords. I can't make them change that just for this feature.
Thanks!

I'm still getting the login loop with VB3.0.3 and Coppermine 1.3.1. I have yet to hear the soloution for this one. I'm ready to just drop coppermine all together. I had it working with VB3.0.1, but there's a bug somewhere in the integration with VB3.0.3. I comb their support forum, but all I see is responses that the bridge file works, but it doesn't. The support from the developer is extremely condescending. I know it's open source and therefore free, but jeez, you'd think that when someone is 'stuck' and several people post the same problem, they'd be a little bit helpful. My impression is that they want people to use Nuke and really don't care if it works with anything else. There's far better support here than over there.
So, if anyone has any ideas, that'd be great. If I somehow manage to get it going, I'll definately post it here.

Open your config.php in your includes folder and look for this:
// Prefix that all vBulletin cookies will have
// For example
$cookieprefix = '/';
Change your cookie prefix in coppermine to what you have your vb cookie prefix set to. That should do the trick.
If you don't have your cookie prefix set in your config.php then set it to whatever you have set in your vbulletin options and make sure that coppermine's cookie prefix matches!

Well Im stuck in the same stupid login loop that has affected so many others :(
Change your cookie prefix in coppermine to what you have your vb cookie prefix set to. That should do the trick.
How can we find what our vb cookie prefix is?
Its not listed in "Cookies and HTTP Header Options" in the admin cp.
Ive also had a look in config.php as someone suggested, but I did not have any reference to cookies in there either.

The latest version of Coppermine has a bridge folder with all the necessary files. You just need to follow the instructions that come with it in a text file and change your settings in the bridge file. Then you have to uncomment the bridge in an init file. I would get the newest CPG and run it that way. Also make sure you check the folder your forums are using for cookies (as detailed below) and correlate it with the one for CPG
Finding your cookie prefix for VBulletin. Open up your Config.php from your includes file and lines 183 to 188 should look like this:
// Prefix that all vBulletin cookies will have
// For example
$cookieprefix = 'bb';
That's the same prefix you should use on line 45 in the bridge file (included with the latest CPG)
define('VB_COOKIE_PREFIX', 'bb'); // Cookie Prefix, not supported by vBulletin 2
It's typically BB, but there's a chance it's something else..

Everyone who is having a login problem or upload permission problem try this. Go to your admincp and in the vbulletin options menu click on the cookies and HTTP header options. Set your your cookie domain up like this: ".yourdomainname.com" and make sure your path to save cookies is "/". Of course don't use the quotation marks and insert your domain name where it says "yourdomainname" and after you have everything setup save it :D. Then go to the config setup in coppermine and down near the bottom you'll see cookies settings. There is a input box labeled "Path of the cookies used by the script" in that box make sure it has this: "/".
Next open up your vbulletin30.inc.php file and make sure you have everything entered corrctly. In the init.inc.php file make sure you have the vbulletin30.inc.php uncommented. After doing all of this make sure you clear out your cache and clean your cookies of your machine. Then when you return to your site make sure you first sign in at the vbulletin side of things first. Then go to your coppermine gallery and check that all your albums have the "Visitors can upload files" checked in the properties of each album. After that you should be good to go and I hope this helps.

i have a problem to edit includes/function_online.php to integrate coppermine in it.
My forum path is /
my gallery path is /gallery/
so i edit function online, i add:
case 'gallery':
$userinfo['action'] = $vbphrase['viewing_gallery'];
$userinfo['where'] = "<a href=\"$userinfo[location]\">$userinfo[location]</a>";
break;
between other case
and after
else
{
$userinfo['activity'] = 'modcp';
}
return $userinfo;
}
i add:
else if (strpos($token, "/gallery/") !== false)
{
{
$userinfo['activity'] = 'gallery';
}
return $userinfo;
}
but it doesn't work
someone can help me?

To make the integration work you must install the coppermine gallery on the same database as your vBulletin. In other words install on the database that your vBulletin uses. Hope this helps.

Well everything seemingly went smooth. Had vbulletin 3.03 already installed on my server. I installed coppermine and tested it and all worked fine as standalone.
I followed the integration instructions and now have a couple problems.
the first is it wont login and shows only 1 user we have 40 users on the boards. the second is after I login if i go to the admin i get this error.
You don't have permission to access /photos/config.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Now im completely lost. Tried checking all the cookies with exception from admin side of coppermine since i can access it lol
Uncommented cleaned the cache etc. Still same thing.
Any ideas what the problem may be.
Thanks

I noticed that there are issues with people with forums in a sub-domain but what if coppermine is in a sub-domain???
My setup is like this:
http://www.website.com.au - Forums.
http://gallery.website.com.au - Coppermine
Seems to work fine until I click login through coppermine... then it just loops for about 2 minutes and says the page can't be found.
Any ideas???
Thanks.

Alright guys, i dunno i found something that could possibly help someone out. If when you click on the Login/Logout link and get an error with something like http:// not found or something.
Try this.
Find:
header('Location: http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . VB_WEB_PATH . $target);
Replace:
header('Location: ' . VB_WEB_PATH . $target);
Oh yeah, make backup because i'm no expert or anything..... just thought that this might be able to help someone.

And if, i select the checkbox to stay forever logged in, then it allows me to see the album easily!
Can anyone tell me wats the problem?

I installed this on my forum and I get the following error when I click on the "Admin Tools" link.
Select album
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: udb_util_filloptions() in /usr/home/tickah/public_html/coppermine/util.php on line 443
When I edit the coppermine init file and comment out the vbulletin line, the error goes away.
Could it be that I am running Coppermine v1.3.2 and vBulletin v3.03 instead of Coppermine v1.21 and vBulletin v3.00?

1. Have the vb Forum installed.
2. Edit the file "vbulletin30.inc.php" under bridge folder (coppermine)
//NOTE : Your vBulletin license number is provided at the top of every php file in your vBulletin installation!
define('VB_CUST_NO', 'xxxxxxxx'); // Your vBulletin license number (NOT your customer number)
define('VB_DB_NAME', 'forum'); // The name of the database used by the board
define('VB_BD_HOST', 'localhost'); // The name of the database server
define('VB_DB_USERNAME', 'username'); // The username to use to connect to the database
define('VB_DB_PASSWORD', 'password'); // The password to use to connect to the database
You can Find the licence number in any of the forum files (at the beginning)
/*================================================= =====================*\
|| ################################################## ################## ||
|| # vBulletin 3.5.0 - Licence Number 1234abcd

|| # http://www.vbulletin.com | http://www.vbulletin.com/license.html # ||

3. Again edit the file "vbulletin30.inc.php" under bridge folder (coppermine)
define('VB_TABLE_PREFIX', 'FIND1'); // Leave empty, not supported by vBulletin 2.3
define('VB_USER_TABLE', 'user'); // The members table
define('VB_SESSION_TABLE', 'session'); // The sessions table
define('VB_GROUP_TABLE', 'usergroup'); // The groups table
define('VB_COOKIE_PREFIX', 'FIND2'); // Cookie Prefix, not supported by vBulletin 2
To get FIND1 and FIND2 download "config.php" from your server with FTP (path forumroot/includes/config.php)
Now search for
$tableprefix =
this value is your FIND1 (the value after '=' sign)
Again search for
$cookieprefix =
this value is your FIND2 (the value after '=' sign)
4. Open the file "init.inc.php" under include folder (coppermine)
then search for
// define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'vbulletin30');
replace with
define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'vbulletin30');
5. Now install the coppermine in the same database and user/pass as vb forum.
Now this should fix all the problems and set you FREE!

1. install vb
2. make necessary changes to vbulletin30.inc.php
3. install cpg
to uninstall just remove the gallery, as it does not create any table in mysql.. just uses the vb table.

Hey,
Installed this fine =D..I installed coppermine through the script library in my cPanel, It installed into a different database than the one my forums are installed in, still works fine for me, intergrated it fine, or atleast i believe so...But my question is, when you go to Users in the Coppermine AdminCP place does it redirect you to the Vbulletin AdminCP or does it show you a list of users in the coppermine? hopefully i explained that correctly.
Also, curious if it is possible to allow only certain usergroups to be able to access the gallery? If so how?
Help would be appreciated =D.

Yeah, it wasn't working for me at first..
I was running 'VB_COOKIE_PREFIX' on the bridge empty with 3.0.1 - and with this upgrade actually had to set it to 'bb' to get it to function right.
For some reason initially I couldn't run it as 'bb' - but now it works properly.

And after 11 months...
While everyone else wants to see all sorts of integration between the two, I believe this is the first step to making those things happen.
has not come true.
I spent (wasted) several hours today getting the headinclude, header, navbar, and footer templates to load from within Coppermine templates. I added a str_replace() which goes through and adds the correct directory names on everything so that the navbar and headers all work regardless of where coppermine is installed.
But now I am hitting the roadblock that by including global.php (and by inference, init.php), Cookies are already being defined so you cannot login to Coppermine. I don't know another sane way to get the templates. :(
I've thought of writing an installer that grabs the templates and re-saves them as HTML files. I've thought of trying to destroy/unset all of the variables set by global.php/init.php. I've thought of trying to grab the template some other way (looking at fetch_template() tells me that this is trickier than I am expecting).

It will create a separate Prefixed table. so if you should every wantto remove it, you will not have any problems. It doesn't make anychanges to the Original Forum templates in anyway.

Apparently, never expect anyone else to do something for you :)

Hi There,
I am trying to integrate coppermine 1.3.0 beta4 into my vBulleting 3.01 installation.
Ian.

define('VB_GROUP_TABLE', 'usergroup'); // The groups table
define('VB_COOKIE_PREFIX', 'FIND2'); // Cookie Prefix, not supported by vBulletin 2
4. Open the file "init.inc.php" under include folder (coppermine)
then search for
// define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'vbulletin30');
replace with
define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'vbulletin30');
5. Now install the coppermine in the same database and user/pass as vb forum.
Now this should fix all the problems and set you FREE!

PS: do NOT use the integration script given in vb.org site use the default (vbulletin30.inc.php under bridge folder) integration script that comes with the cpg 1.3.2
I'm running 3.0.7 on my test board, and following these instructions fixed my login problems. Initially, I was being redirected to my bb where I was already logged in, and when I returned to my gallery, I wasn't logged in. I think this was referred to as the "login-loop" LOL
Anyway, for those of you still experiencing the same issue, you may want to CAREFULLY follow the above solution.
Thanks a bunch!

Ok, I'm having some problems with this. Hopefully someone can help me.
1) In ADMIN TOOLS, I'm getting the following error
Fatal error: Unknown function: udb_util_filloptions() in /home/womensde/public_html/album/util.php on line 443
2) When I try to logout, I get:
An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out. (I'm assuming this is the same problem most people were also having).
3) When I do finally get logged out, I get the following errors

ok, the http errors seem to be fixed. Now I'm having an error when trying to upload
Invalid action for form creation.
Seems several people are having this problem and nobody wants to reply with a fix.
I upgraded to 3.0.6 and now the integration doesn't seem to work. Anyone else having this problem?
Hi Bigwrenn,
I'm having a similar problem.
We run vB 3.0.6 and the Coppermine installer in Fantasico puts the DB in it's own.
It does not put the three sql files into the vB database. I may be wrong.
I think the database has to be installed through phpMyAdmin, but I'm not sure.
When I click login with all the settings everyone mentions, I go right to the front end of my board.
I'm stumped.
Anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks
Hi Everyone, I recommend to install Copermine MANUALLY!
Do NOT use Fantasico. As great as Fantasico is, it won't put the database in the vB database.
Now can someone give us the syntax to use for the vB 3.X navbar please?
I'm using vB 3.0.6 and Coppermine 1.3.2.
Thanks in advance!

i fix my issues with the login.. but it wont let me upload pictures... can anyone help me what i may b doing wrong??
What is the correct install option? For example, I have got a vbulletin installation on my abcdef database and a coppermine installation on 123456 database, is it wrong?
Should I install coppermine on the same database with vbulletin? In this case, abcdef? If I do so, what will happen to my vbulletin installation?

In the 'How to', it says "Save vbulletin3.inc.php to the bridge directory of your Coppermine installation" - What is a bridge directory? I currently have my files placed like this: 1) vBulletin - www.domain.com/forums/ and 2) Coppermine - www.domain.com/gallery/ - so what would the bridge directory be? The root?
There is a directory named 'bridge' in your coppermine folder.

Where does this hack/integration stand?
I have the following problems:
1. Login in coppermine takes me to forum home. Login there and return to coppermine and everything is okay. Solution: remove login from coppermine and install a popup that advises users they must be logged in in forum home to use gallery.
2. Logout error in coppermine "an error occurred while attempting to logout, please click here to logout This one was posted before and not addressed.
I installed my coppermine on a seperate database. Seems to work ok though. No other problems than login/out like everyone else.

the login taking you to the forum is necessary because in fact the forum is processing the login and there is no way to tell the forums login page to redirect you back to the gallery.
I suggest to just add a "Gallery" link to the forums main page ;)

:mad: Providing hacks and not supporting them is quite useless. Maybe the moderators could flag hacks that are not supported by the authors as that. Saves time and you don't install stuff that doesn't work right anyway.
I stopped scanning this thread on page 10 or whatever, but I guess since people still have issues, I post my mods.
Here is my setup:
- latest coppermine (1.3.3)
- vbulletin 3.0.6 (German)
The version of Coppermine that I have came with the bridge file for PHP. Since the one provided here didn't work and the file distributed with Coppermine had the cookie fix already applied to, I used it as base of my modifications to make it work.
Warning: The edits are quite techy and I will not support this.
bridge/vbulletin30.inc.php
1) You do all the obvious magic (database settings, ...)
2) Code hacking
Find this (around line 91):
$got_user = 0;
if ($bbuserid && $bbpassword) {
// If userid and password exist in cookies we use them to login
And replace the following query ($sql = ...) and the mysql_num_rows() statement with this:
$got_user = 0;
if ($bbuserid && $bbpassword) {
// If userid and password exist in cookies we use them to login
$sql = "SELECT userid as user_id, username as user_name, usergroupid as mgroup, password, salt ";
$sql.= "FROM " . $UDB_DB_NAME_PREFIX . VB_TABLE_PREFIX . VB_USER_TABLE . " ";
$sql.= "WHERE userid='" . addslashes(stripslashes($bbuserid)) . "'";
if(!($result = db_query($sql, $UDB_DB_LINK_ID))){
echo 'Error: '.mysql_error().'<br/>';
echo 'Query: '.$sql.'<br/>';
echo 'File: '.__FILE__.'<br/>';
exit;
}
if (mysql_num_rows($result) > 0) {
$USER_DATA = mysql_fetch_array($result);
if ($bbpassword != md5($USER_DATA['password'] . $USER_DATA['salt'])) {
$got_user = 1;
}
}
...
So, what did I change here? First of all, I made the $sql query readable. There is an unwritten law that when you write code, you try to break it up after 65 chars (makes printing and reading easier).
Then I added the field "salt" to the SELECT-statement. It's used in vbulletin's login/authentication methods. Last but not least, I changed the if()-statement to check the password stored in the cookie against the password stored in the database.
If you want to have a look at the way vbuelltin does the authentication magic, feel free to browse includes/function-login.php under your vbulletin installation.
Ok, this is it. Not it works for me. Hope this actually helps someone else. If I find anything else, I will post again.
Cheers,
Till
Logout doesn't work either.
In bridge/vbulletin30.inc.php, find this:
// Logout
function udb_logout_page()
{
$target = 'login.php?&do=logout';
udb_redirect($target);
}
Replace with:
// Logout
function udb_logout_page()
{
$target = 'login.php?do=logout&u=10';
udb_redirect($target);
}

No problem.
Well all the important information is in the bar in the top and on the right.
Ok, to take this one step further. The login doesn't work well either, it logs me in, but I am not taken back to the gallery.
In reference to the following hack:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=61112&page=1&pp=15
First off, a small correction:
bridge/vbulletin30.inc.php
Replace all instances of "VB_BD_HOST" with "VB_DB_HOST". ;)
So here is my modification:
bridge/vbulletin30.inc.php
#1
Find:
define('VB_WEB_PATH', '/forum/');
Add underneath:
define('VB_DOC_ROOT', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/forum');
Of course you have to modify the path, this works in my example. :)
#2
Find "function udb_login()" and replace its contents with the following:
function udb_login_page($url)
{
$bbuserid = (int) ((isset($_COOKIE['bbuserid']) && !empty($_COOKIE['bbuserid']))?$_COOKIE['bbuserid']:0);
$bbpassword = (string) $_COOKIE['bbpassword'];
$bbusername = (string) '';
$db_conn = mysql_connect(VB_DB_HOST, VB_DB_USERNAME, VB_DB_PASSWORD) OR die('vbbridge: No connection.');
mysql_select_db(VB_DB_NAME, $db_conn) OR die ('vbbridge: No such database.');
$query = "select username from ". VB_USER_TABLE ." where userid = $userid";
if($rawdb = @mysql_query($query)){
if(mysql_num_rows($rawdb) > 0){
$array = mysql_fetch_array($rawdb);
$bbusername=$array['username'];
mysql_free_result($rawdb);
}
}
mysql_close($db_conn);
if(empty($bbusername)){
?>
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php echo VB_WEB_PATH; ?>clientscript/vbulletin_md5.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<form action="<?php echo VB_WEB_PATH; ?>login.php" method="post" onsubmit="md5hash(vb_login_password,vb_login_md5password);">
<span class="sectionheader">Username:</span>
<input type="text" class="button" name="vb_login_username" id="navbar_username" size="15" accesskey="u" tabindex="1" value="username" onfocus="if (this.value == 'username') this.value = '';" /><br/>
<span class="sectionheader">Password: </span>
<input type="password" class="button" name="vb_login_password" size="15" accesskey="p" tabindex="2" /><br/>
<input type="checkbox" name="cookieuser" value="1" tabindex="3" id="cb_cookieuser_navbar" accesskey="c" checked="checked" />
<span class="sectionheader">Remember Me</span><br/>
<input name="submit" type="submit" class="button" accesskey="s" tabindex="4" title="Log In" value="Log In" />
<input type="hidden" name="do" value="login" />
<input type="hidden" name="forceredirect" value="1" />
<input type="hidden" name="url" value="URL_TO_YOUR_GALLERY_HERE">
<input type="hidden" name="vb_login_md5password" />
</form>
</body>
</html>
<?php
}else{
udb_redirect('index.php');
}
// hard exit
exit;
}
Make sure you replace URL_TO_YOUR_GALLERY_HERE in the code snippet. You can make it more pretty by including CSS and so on, and so on. This is quite dirty. But it works. ;)
Cheers,
Till

Right below "// Nothing to edit below this line" you have to set the table_prefix and the cookie_prefix

Both of these values can be found in your vBulletin config.php.
vb3_ and bb were the default vB settings in config.php

I worked out the problem, that admins weren?t able to upload pics... :)
Go to the directory of your coppermine-theme and open the "theme.php", there you have to look for "// HTML template for user admin menu"
In this Block you?ll find the code for the three links. Just cut it out there and paste it where do you want to have it into the Block "// HTML template for main menu" (should be the first one).
I think the problem was, that this user-admin-menu is based on the admin-menu. If you were in admin-view it was overwritten and if your were in user-view it wasn?t shown.

That wouldn?t work on your board.
You have to enter the information for your board into this file and not someone elses.
Actualy it?s really easy and the comments in the file are very clear and not too hard to follow.

OK after going through 15 pages of notes starting from 2004 . I am so lost...
I have VB 3.0.7 with coppermine 1.33
I successfully installed coppermine and was able to get to the main index. i have the following menu options
I followed the original hack to a T and also implements through out a few pages, but slowly got lost.
Album list :: Upload file :: Login
Last uploads :: Last comments :: Most viewed :: Top rated :: My Favorites :: Search
I click Login . It sends me to Vbulletin in which many case I'm already logged in to the Vbulletin. So I logout, go back to Coppermines main page and click Login -> sends me to Vbulletin -> i then login -> point the browser to my coppermine folder (index.php) and I still have a login. Therefore repeating the whole sequence. I feel its cookie related somehow.
1) Can I have some assistence
2) Is there going to be an updated hack for this for everyone who has the latest scripts
3) I already wasted money on WSN Gallery (no decent support) so buying another program such as VBaGallery is no in the budget
4) Is 4images better and easyier to integrate.
Seems I'm having problems with any gallery. Yet I completely customized Vbulletin without a hitch :ermm:
Soooo i can't login,

Right below "// Nothing to edit below this line" you have to set the table_prefix and the cookie_prefix
('VB_TABLE_PREFIX', 'vb3_'); and ('VB_COOKIE_PREFIX', 'bb').
Both of these values can be found in your vBulletin config.php.
vb3_ and bb were the default vB settings in config.php
I used the vbulletin3.inc.php in the latest release of coppermine and followed all the directions and it finally worked!
by default in config.php my Table Prefix was '' (nothing) and Cookies was 'bb' So I went and found those in the vbulletin30.inc.php and adjusted, and still no go. I tried to edit
// Prefix that your vBulletin tables have in the database.
// For example: $tableprefix = 'vb3_';
$tableprefix = '';
to
// Prefix that your vBulletin tables have in the database.
// For example: $tableprefix = 'vb3_';
$tableprefix = 'vb3_';
To make it something, then adjusted the vbulletin30.inc.php to vb3_ and my vBulletin freaked out with a server error. Is there something else I have to change???
I tried what Till said and still nothing. Can someone who is using theirs and working well email me their vbulletin30.inc.php of course with all important user password info gone.

my forum is installed and running properly.
now i made the changes in coppermine files as instructed (locally, still not installed in the server)

3) or just do a fresh installation of coppermine using a new database and THEN manually modify the changes in the two files suggested?

Ironhead has the perfect fix and his tutorial is basically flawless. PM me or him for the steps. as far as your questions
1) Yes upload the files to your server (in a differnent folder off the root)
2) Yes same database, user , and password, plus make sure your VB is fully licensed!!! Every VB PHP page should have your license
3) No, the best way to integrate is to use the SAME database.

Alright, i integrated the new version of coppermine into out 3.0.8 forums using the methods mentioned above. The original 30 file modified as instructed, sharing the same database with vbulletin. When people log in, it works. It sees them as the vbulletin user they are supopsed to be...
One problem:
If someone tries to logout, they go to the following url and receive a page not displayed error.
"http://topshelfexotic.com/photogallery/logout.php?referer=%2Fphotogallery%2F"
Anyone have a fix for this. I tried a few things mentioned above and nothing seemed to work. Since then i've installed fresh and simply got the initial integration working. Nothing more...
Forums are here: http://topshelfexotic.com/vbulletin/
and the gallery is here: http://topshelfexotic.com/photogallery/
DO NOT USE THE LINK FOR THE IMAGE GALLLERY ON THE FORUMS, it points to an OLD installation of coppermine which is still active until we are able to complete the new installation properly. Thanks for any help in advance!
Got coppermine into out 3.0.8 working with version 134 133 is the old version. only problem is when i log out there a error but it just clears the cookies then relog in & it's still working just a error when logging out & makes you clear your cookies
