The so-called "gold" release of vBulletin 3 was produced last night and is now available for download in the Member's Area. This release includes the most stable release yet of the code, as well as the entirely new icon and button set. There are also some notable changes that may slip past the attention of some vB users such as the liquid appearance being the default style for new installations.

Of interest in the new documentation (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/) is the code style guide as it is relevant to all work produced here at vB.org. It is available in the Developer Resources appendix, and we recommend that you comply with the new style guide to make your code more readable and to more seamlessly integrate it with vB3.

The normal vB trio of sites (vB.com/vB.org/vBT) may be slightly slower today due to the predictably large amount of traffic that the release has brought (the site slowed to a crawl yesterday), so please be patient if you try to access any of the sites or the vB download itself.

For security reasons due to XSS vulnerabilities found in RC4, it would be advisable to upgrade to this new version as soon as possible, unless you have applied the appropriate patch.

I think that Gold is really good, but like someone stated earlier, could care less about the icons (think there ugly), cuz I make my own :). Congrats vB team on a great job with vB3!!

My upgrade went fine, but maybe the "gold" version isn't bug free, but is any software? all I can say to Jelsoft is well done, and if there is a upgrade, then so what, how many patches has there been for Windows? and that is people's OS.
