The new coding style of vB3 is driving me bonkers. I've tried looking into creating this hack, but with all the new phrases and whatnot...I'm totally lost.

My idea:

To make reputations more effective, set it up so that specific forums can add more reputation than others. I.E. If someone were to set the reputation for a post in a support forum, that reputation would be greater than a reputation set in Off-Topic.

Additionally, it would be nice if you could also set up the system so that if someone were to create a new thread (or post) in a forum, they automatically get reputation just for contributing.

This might actually make reputations useful :)

This hack would be very useful for me if someone could do it. Or even turn reputation off in some forums and on in others.

I exactly want this - to turn rep off in some forums just like post counting.

i would need to investigate how the reputation system works..however im sure it would be possible even if i dont intend to write it

I am just here to offer my 2 cents. This should have been in VB3 as well as a better explanation of how it works. Its done nothing but confuse people and get abused by people who should not use it, while it should be an excellent feature. My only fix is to disable forums from using it. I would assume there must be a way to hack the code per forum to simply remove the add reputation link? Anyone wanting to tackle this, I think there would be more demand for this then expected. VB does not seem too interested.
