View Full Version : New Admin NEEDS HELP PLEASE???

Hi, I am new to the admin biz, well crap I am new to the biz period. AnyWho, I had been reling (okay I can't spell either) on my IT Husband who is soon to be EX. Well, now I need help. My members are screaming and yes I do mean screaming for the ability to Cut & Paste from Word. It use to work and then my Husband uploaded one of the new versions and it works no more. HELP PLEASE???

The other thing that they are (okay all of us) is wanting is some way to have a least two pages for emoticons...we have alot, and I have a bunch more to upload.

Okay one more stupid question. Is there anyway to delete posts without deleting the number of posts on the members counter or the site for that matter...does that make any sense.

Please help? And remember that I am a true vB and MySQL newborn.

Pasting should work just fine. As for the smilies, you are running the new vB3. When someone makes a reply there is a little smilie button with an arrow next to it, in here is the smilies you have and they can click catagorys to see more as vB3 lets you catagorise the smilies.

As for the emoticons I have them catagorized but they still all come up on one page which is real slow to load for my members with dial up.

Hehe im a diva in training :) I wrote and changed the look of something in my word program and copied and pasted and it worked fine. Where are you copying from, something you wrote yourselfetc?

yep. Most of the gals create there todo lists in Word and then C&P them into the forum but it isn't working.

I tried C&Ping something from Outlook this morning and it did the same thing.

The only way we can C&P is if we use notepad and then it loose all the formatting.

I use Word to create things like the "Rules Of The Road" and then C&P it, but now it is not working.
