Hi, this has been buggin me for a while, can you please fix the left-top image as well as the search & online users "tabs".

For the left image, it's actually the line that is not correctly alined as I can see the same offset at the bottom

Image > Words (See attachment)

Rendered using Mozilla 1.7
I'm under Linux - Scrap the "use IE - no one uses Mozilla !" replies...

While you're at it - upgrade server software (or remove PNG uploads); When I upload a .PNG it crashes (Zero-size reply)

That did get rather annoying when I had a phase of using Firefox, I have to admit..

I missed the "copy image" function of IE too much though and went back to it..

I didn't bother reporting all the errors on the default skin when vB.org went to vB3, I just switched to Plain Green. Works for me.

Yeah I was on plain gree for a while, but it's... plain lol anyway a bug is a bug and it should be squashed and sent to bug hell

Plain green is the best :)

also please try to upload an image, i really don't get what bug exactly you mean.
btw. i know there are some little glitches on DB with mozilla. but tere were just the two methods:
a: make it IE konform
b: make it Mozillaconform and produce glitches on IE

and as the majority uses IE i won't change the descision.

If you can tell me a different code which works on both browsers, feel free to do so, i didn't find one when i worked on that problems last time

Current:
<td width="19" valign="top" background="../layout/mid_leftextend.gif" align="right">

How's:

<td width="19" valign="top" align="right" style="background-image: url(../layout/mid_leftextend.gif); background-position: center right; background-repeat: repeat-y;">

Hmm, bumping a 4 months old thread, but i felt bored ^^

I've now recoded the DB header and Green header&footer, and according to my tests with firefox, i got rid of the glitches.

Actually i still have no clue why the search&online boxes have been looking odd in everything else but IE, as the code was absolutelly valid, but as i rewrote it completely now, doing it with tables, and not div tags anymore, it seems to work better now :)

It may be because of your resolution, what are you using?

Cuz it's fine here on a 1024x768 res.

Andreas

1280 x 1024 (19" TFT).

Gonna check @ 1024x768.

Edit: At 1024 x 768 it's almost OK, although both elements should still be moved some pixels to the left side.

Xenon

yeah, seems to be a resolution issue.

on IE it's looking perfect, Moz with 1024 is looking better than before, but a little to much left.
On 1280 it looks like described (i saw it at the university today.)

will have to take a closer looks, if i can find something more to try :)

Just to add: It's even worse @ 1600 x 1200 :(

Xenon

hmmm, kk, seems i have to go into that deeper.

Xenon
07-13-2004, 12:36 PM
ok, another change in the header.

can anyone tell me if it fixed the problem. I don't have that big resolutions here ;)

Andreas
07-13-2004, 12:42 PM
Does look perfect @ 1600x1200 :)

Don't you mean a "home run"? ;)

Xenon
07-13-2004, 03:24 PM
Nope, i'm not using Baseball language but Bowling language :)

(Baseball isn't popular in germany ;))

Dean C

Bowling as in "bowls". That game with the balls where you have to roll them close to the errm little ball...?

Littlebit
07-13-2004, 04:30 PM
Bocchi Ball? I'm not sure the spelling... I do know he really did mean bowling with the pins bowling anyways :) :p

Xenon
07-13-2004, 04:38 PM
Littlebit is right :)

It's called 'Kegeln' here, if that helps you ^^

Andreas
07-16-2004, 01:01 PM
First of all, Kegeln != Bowling! :)

I am really sorry, but there are further problems with the style (screenshots taken with Firefox 0.9.1 @ 800x600).

Xenon
07-16-2004, 01:04 PM
@Kirby: yes, but it was the easiest to explain ^^

Sorry, the other problems cannot be solved.
you have to have a minimum resolution of 1024x768 with DB...

But that's also a reason, why we have a new default Style :)

Andreas
07-16-2004, 01:06 PM
Well, I don't care about resolution as my standard is 1280x1024 anyway - just wanted to let you know :)

Xenon
07-16-2004, 01:07 PM
I think that was like that since the beginning.

Another reason, why i never really liked DB Style ;)
