Hi,

I'm sorry to post this here because I'm sure that this isn't the right place to be posting this. However, I can't figure out where its supposed to go. Apologies in advance.

I've recently purchased a vb 2.3.4, and tried to install the avatar categories hack. I've installed it on multiple boards before, and its worked fine. However, with this version is just does not seem to be working.

I've heard that a code modification needs to be put into place for the hack to work, yet searching the forum, I can't find it.

Can anyone shed any light on this? :ermm:

Thank you for your time :)

You can do this with vB3 by default IIRC

Would that mean upgrading?

When upgrading to a new version of vB, would any hacks previously performed be lost..?

Yes, just like when you upgrade from vB to vB old hacks are lost.

vBulletin 3 has quite a few of the most popular hacks from the vB2 era built in, such as quick reply and other things.

All-right, thank you very much for your help :D

ETA: Unfortunately, my co-admin are not willing to upgrade to vb?. Is there no other way of getting around this problem? :disappointed:
