Hi all,

First off, left me say, i am not planning on running a pirate vB :(, i have run a forum using UBB for over 3 years, i used to love UBB, but itsnot dated and the vB has ALOT more feature and hacks (the arcade hacks is real nice)

well am trying to convert my UBB 6.1.0.4 to vB

we have the scripts to convert UBB to vB 2 and vB 3

well 1 of them will move the members and post count over
the other will move the threads over

when we update the counters for the post count, it corrupts the database

does any1 have the correct script ????...or can any1 point me in the right direction,

the guy who is doing the work for me has all the scripts from his vB,but he doesnot have the $30 year access to the members area, and intill i get the ok that the board is ok, i will not buy the license and update, but as soon as i get all the threads moved and working, i will be buying the license (just as i did with UBB)

as i dont want to spend $200 on a license if i cannot move my UBB

We have spoken about converting to PHPBB or Ikonboard (the scripts from UBB to these are available for free) BUT we also need the scripts to go from either of them to vB

I cannot belive vB does make the scripts available, as many want to make sure they work B4 they spend the $200

can any1 help me out with either 3 of them ????????

Will Jelsoft refund the fee if the convert script doesnt work ???????

what can i do, as many forums like mine are using vB and they look great, and i just think a change will kick some life into the old dog ;)

thanks in advance
matt

Before you import data into an installation of vBulletin, you must legally own or rent a license for vBulletin. I do not see why Jelsoft should make such a script free.

vB is not $200. It is $85 for a one-year leased license or $160 for an owned license.

UBB will import, many have done the import process before.

thanks both

i allways thought it was $200 , $160 is cheaper, so thats good ;)

jelsoft could produce a test script that will let you know if its possible to import your existing board, but then again, im just talking as a guy who can not afford to lose $160 on a failed idea (i wonder how many others think about changing boards only to be put of by the worry they might not be able to import everything ?????)

I believe under some circumstances, Jelsoft will refund your money. I am sure, though, that there is a working UBB6 -> vB2 import script available in the member's area, so I can say that I am 99% sure it would import your board - but first you must purchase vB. ;)

Doesn't that import script come with the import bundle in the member's section? I know I have that script and it works, I just can't remember where I got it. It had to of been the member's section or here though.

If it was to vB2 it would of been the members section on vB.com.

If it was to vB3, you've hacked my machine as its not been released yet :)

Maybe this post can help you to directly convert to vb3. Should also work with 6.1.0.4
