Displaying variables in the header. How ???

I would like to display variables such as:

Total Members, Total Threads, Total Posts

Username, UserPosts, UserPoints, User PMs

Possibly UsersOnline too

In the header. However, if i copy the variable from forumhome, postbit etc. into the header nothing is displayed. How do I display such information in the header?

You can add the code to either global.php or the phpinclude template. I would though, for all those stats you would be adding a few extra queries per page.

I remember reading that there's a possibility to get all these stats without queries. Isn't it stored in the datastore therefore 0 extra queries?
