hmm check the amount of features available to this Store hack addon on invision power board

sure i've seen store hacks but none to the level of this monster
wonder if anything like this will be released on Vbulletin

they back again and to be honest IPB is a crap board but they do have one of the best if not the best store hack.Bank everything is all incorporated into one.You can get scratch cards etc and the lists goes on - use the link above to check.

yeah i too agree the IPB store functionality is amazing, i hope lesane and the others get inspired enough to not just equal the work that's their but to better it and set a new a bench mark.

i do not believe IPB is a 'crap' board i believe that it is hot on the heals of vb

coz i remember when invision power board 1.2 came out
it had features that i've only recently seen in Vb3
and some it still doesn't have like

'Full Text Searching'

ie the promotions
and one of its biggest strengths is that it is extremely fast and easy on the server

my opinion would be that IPB 1.2 was better then Vbulletin 2 on standard features

but when it comes to hacks no one can beat Vb.org

also the new Invision power board is set to have only 5 queries on the forum index

sorry although i personally prefer Vbulletin i could never say IPB is 'crap'

been lookin at a ib powered site for a freind recently and its lookin good :p if i could use vb i would but like the man says, just because of rivalry between vb and ib dont mean that ib is crap....

also altho ib has had many features of its own, it has stolen from vb indirectly beofre and i know for a fact that a few vb staff, like to make ib guys lifes alittle funnier once in a while and vice versa....

*remebers when scott was gonna go to the ib meetin in london with a vb t-shirt on and sit in the front row :D

As I have said time and time again everyone steals everyones ideas. I seriously doubt vBulletin was the first to have all of the features it has.

how is an idea called stealing i mean pms they are like a standard feature , but someone had to have them first
every forum needs them infact eventually i would say forums will end up more or less alike if they strive to have extra ideas
which is why people think ipb is like vb where i think not at all alike
they share some features but they are very different as far as forum software goes
I mean even in hacks there are countless store hacks and karma hacks so is that stealing ?
no its just a wanted feature

Ie people will suggest features they want and as far as i have seen with ipb i've seen their suggestions section and i know that more or less they deliver features that people want in the next releases of IPB

It's all about having time for the internet, i can make 100 actions for the store but if you don't have the time for it then it ends quickly. ;)

IPB is imo a great forum script.

They "stole" the ideas as it were, im sure vb3 had multi attachments first, then ib kinda knocked out a version of ther script with this... its well documented and what i thought was well known that vb and ib are not best of friends.... well this si one reason why

I don't think ibf is bad software, but personally since I've used vbulletin and then purchased my own, I have heavily favored its software.

As for the issue of features as a concern, I think that the better ibf gets the more danger vb is in, mainly because one is free software and the other is paid, and for many people, well they just can't stand to pay.

Cheers,

Well, seeing as how my `Store Hack` is going to be fully integrated/integrateable with all of my upcoming feature hacks, AND has some features that I've yet to see appear on the entire internet, anywhere, I figure you can say that Yes, vBulletin WILL have such a powerful thing, too :)

Plus, Lesane's vB3-version might be immensely awesome too, we don't know yet. :) (though his complaints about lack of time aren't exactly the most hope-inspiring for that, but... ;))

LMAO @ Vbulletin and multi-attachments first
what you on about it was a requested feature for ages on all forums
and also you can never Vbulletin was the first to have multiple attachments especially since
web based email has had this for years now

No problem - maybe nobody else answered the question because they didn't know yet whether there was going to be a majorly big one for vB3 or not. :)
