This list will be maintained by me and John (writer of the v3 Arcade), and updated whenever someone adds a (serious) feature request.

Features with a * are already planned.

REQUESTS:





* (Admin option) Registered users need X posts before they can play in the Arcade;
* (Admin option) Usergroup-based per-game permissions, i.e. Usergroup A can play games 1-5, Usergroup B can play games 1-10, etc. (useful for usergroups that act like Status Ranks)
* (Admin option) Registered users need X high reputation before they can play in the Arcade;
(user setting) "Always enter No comment and return me to the game instead of forwarding me to the Enter Comment & Highscores page"
Show pending challenges on the challenge page they can play in the Arcade;
Challenge high scores get set as main highscore if challenge hi scores options is turned on.
A "Challenge me!" button in threads (postbit).
Ability to specify a sorting order for the Arcade Home.
Separate page or link to see the highest score for each player (on a per-game basis, I'm assuming).

I made a link in the Arcade's official thread to a page of .FLA files, one i would most like to see is the solitaire ;)

I would like to see Tetris played as 2player, simultainously, so one person is on the left screen, one on the right ;)

Oh and the old tetris music in the game ;)

they are submitted BUT they dont stay as the highest score if you get what i mean ?

I'm not sure what you mean... It seems to register as the high score everywhere, except for on the "Score to Beat" table that's to the right of the game that you're playing.

I have seen a guy on some site that use FLASH games...he made 51 on simon. I have made 11. I always screw somewhere. Anyway...i have played only for 4 times :)

If John decides to wait for the Modules Manager with his HTL-release of the v3 Arcade, that can be very easily done with only one tiny file-edit to your forumhome php file (adding 1 word at the top and that's it).

The rest of the file edits can be minimized that way too. :)

There is a challenge link in the postbit, for those with challenges enabled. Just click the username of the person you want to challenge and the link will be in in the drop-down menu. :)

One thing that I think would make as a great improvement on either of the arcade scripts would be adding the ability for users to change the size of a game as a default option/feature. I've added it on my site (using a hacked version of Futureals) and that's by far one of the best features of the arcade, and something that's extremely easy to do. ;)

A friend of mine got well over 450.000 points in Tetris, and he certainly did not cheat or hack. It's just pretty easy if you can keep up at the pace of level 10, cos after that it never goes any faster anymore.

I think that if he starts at level 10, he could fairly easily get that high a score in that time. Keep in mind that removing 4 lines at once is worth a rather high amount, and at level 10 you go through stones _real_ fast :)

as far as i know, the arcade is near-impossible to cheat in, and it's pretty much impossible that he hacked the game. :)

1. Is there anyway to order game the way we want? The "T" letter is on the top, Tetris, what factor make the Tetris on top?

2. Coud we have an option to view the highest score for each player? If this one requires query then it's ok not to have it since I don't want to slow the forum.

cool, those are not neccessary to have, but nice to see it implement.

speaking of sorting the games in order, my suggestion is only for small amount of games. If there are 100 games or more. You guys might have to think about organizing in categories.

Right now we have 16 games in total, so everything is fine, but close to 50 I could see some clusters in the interface. My first idea to solve this problem is only use the game icon, no personal bet, no description until user click on the icon. This way we could show a table with 8 games in a rows, go down the page users can see 8 columns x 10 rows = 80 games without any confusion.

Another suggestion is Universal scoring system, in which I posted in supporting section, here it is to keep all the suggestion in one place:

Yep, it's one of those small things which aren't really worth fixing straight away, but will be fixed in the next update.

A nice feature would be to limit the number of high scores to a admin settable amount. For example, I currently have 550 high scores saved for Snake. I'd like to be able to limit all games to say the top 50 scores. If a player gets a score that's not in the top 50 they do not get asked to leave a comment. If they make it into the top 50 they'd get a nice little "Congradulations, you scored in the top 50, leave a comment" type of thing.

I figure it keeps the database a little be cleaner too. :)

May be this already on to-do list but just in case:

The hack system right now let the first one who get the trophy forever until someone beats him/her. Anyone who score the same will NOT get the trophy. For most games this is not a problem, but for game such as penguin the score is limited, so I think it's a good idea to let the latest member who score the same will get the trophy, this will encourage people to play more.

Smirks, I already asked the same question and John already knew the issue before I asked. It will be change in the next version, IMO.

I'm still reading through the 100 page hack thread, but that will take a while so forgive me if i'm gonna request something that is mentioned there somewhere (if it is). But since this is the request thread and i didn't see it here yet...

I would very much like a hall of fame. That is, to award the top 10 peepz points on the place they achive per game, giving nr1 10 points and number 10 1 point. Then have that totalled for all games installed and show the Best Allround Flash Game Player Hall Of Fame Top 10. But you can only give someone 1x points per game. This to make sure someone who is only good in 1 game and has place 1-6 in it doesn't get a ++++load of points, only the highest place someone has per game gives him points
This will encourage peepz to try and climb up 1 place in a game to improve his overall ranking position.

Hey John. I know this is planned, but if you get on today, I plan on opening up my forum tonight. And I need that hack that can be found at http://forums.aliensoup.com when you go to arcade and click a game saying. "You do not have enough posts." I am no coder, but I tried making a phrase, and a template with the phrase in it, and then tried to edit the arcade.php but I had no luck. So if you can get this done today it would be very very appreciated. Thanks.


BTW: On simon you can write down the new color as you go along making it almost endless...
