Making a Legend and changing color for names

I was wondering how I can create a legend down below my forum with like Admin - Moderator - Member and assign a color for them or show up in and also how to change the color of them per their group on the whose online box?

did you search for it? this is done in vB3 by default and there are at least 2 hacks to do this for vb2
