can someone post an example of code for a custom nav bar?

Im curious to see how the code was done.

I know its something simple to most. but im trying to learn it and I havent found any answers ive been looking for by using the search on this site.

you won't find it here of course, as the navbar is a TEMPLATE and therfore it would be better to search at vbulletintemplates.com :)
