hey paprika,
thanks! that does help. a lot.
have you used it? i've seen it on a couple of sites, looks a little hacky, but i'm trying to make sure my pages are updated so they look recent for the search engines.
is there something else i can do that you know of?
I'm sorry, what do you mean by hacky??

oh, i just meant that in the forums i checked out, the users were making fun of the grammer, etc of the bot.
that's not an issue for me though. has it been working on your site?

Yeah it worked back when I was able to use it, but i've upgraded since then and it's no longer compatible.
People, I'm thinking that if there is an actively maintained-working BOT add-on for phpBB or some other board, we can ask the author can we all work together to port it over to vBulletin 3.5.x
Then we can open up like a.. umm.. sourceforge site or another one of those collaberative programming project sites and go from there each in our spare time.
Fatal error: Field mimicbotrop is not defined in $validfields in class vb_datamanager_forum in /includes/class_dm.php on line 485
can somebody help me with this error?
further...
Login to phpmyadmin and check in the 'bots' table that the bot id is 0
you find that the table 'bot's the id number in there needs editing to 0 from 1 in some cases
the bots table is empty?!? ... what should be in it?

that measn that ht ID of the bot should be 1 instead of 0. You need to check that out.
Now one other thing. Is this working with vb 3.5.4?

Word to all that say they have read the thread and are PM'ing me to share my modified source of talkerbot to work in 3.5. You obviously have not read the thread, or any links in my posts else you would know to share this source of someone elses hack would be unethical, illegal and against vbulletin.org's rules.
I did also mention coders only could contact me via pm as the only way to release a new working 3.5 link to the alice bot for posting (which is what this mainly consists of) so we can make a complete rewrite and release it properly as an open project.
Last word, if your not listed as a coder here do not PM me to discuss a rewrite, any members regardless of status purely asking for my modified source will be reported to vbulletin.org staff.

Yea this is long over due. I just wish I still had the code for v3 laying around to release it. v3 was amazing for the short period of time i had it made before my pc got stolen. :(

Tim,
Will the ported version work with 3.5? or only 3.6?

I am slaving away right now and will have a release for 3.5 and 3.6. I have him working already but I dont have all the minor things finished up for the rough port. I will also be updating him all week after he is released to make him fully utilize things in vbulletin 3.6 like he should. Such as the datamanager which for now he is not using.
But the bot is now live and kicking on my site. Plus I have fixed many windows compatibility issues while I was at it and remove alot of the errors you guys used to see at times.

check it out ;) ^^^
Donations would be awsome as this script is going to require alot of time over the next few weeks to get things back to where I want them. Plus there is still v3 which will be in the works. ;)

Well, you are getting a donation from me. Just give me a week to wonder over to a place where they allow paypal... (I'm in Iraq)..
People need to realize, without donations great hacks will go to a paid version.
So in order to keep coders motivated (as we ALL know they get a lot of grief), donations help out with it.
Beside the Chicago Bears stomping the Packers 26-0, this is the best news all week!! :D

First off what version of vbulletin are you using? Since right now this is only for 3.0.x. and I see on your vb version it says 3.6.
