I emailed the mod writer but haven't been responded for weeks now.
want to know any freelancers who can do this job.
i want a vb for my postnuke site which u can find at www.netbizcreate.com/wowpeople. it's only 80% done and i'm not yet done with the content and other modifications and it's also using pnphpbb for the forum. i'd rather have vb in its place so won't open my site till i get this thing integrated.
thanks.

I'd suggest you go to VBadvanced.

unless vbadvance got all the nice modules i have on my site, i would give it a go but if it doesn't have all the stuff i got and i really loved all the modules i have, i'd say i have my preference for postnuke.
thanks anyway,

If your patient then you may have all that you would need if you start out with either vbIndex or vbAdvanced...they have alot already and if you ask around you may get the added blocks that you need. PHPNuke or any variation is total junk...they are query intensive and have poorly written code. Any decent vb hacker wouldn't touch it. Good luck.

Actually it's not a horrid system to integrate, I guess unless you have done it before you can't really comment on it.

its true, when i first started with vBulletin i tried vBportal, and belive it its HORRID HORRID program intergration. the query load was sky high as many as 120 just to display the home page. that is WAY to much. youd be very supriised to see any vB3 instaltion with over 25~ qurrys on a page.
default ive never seen it go over 15 even in the ACP. so if you REALLY want a heavly bloated system working with such a refined one as vBulletin you more than welcome to go and try it your self,

Your talking about two diffrent systems there pal, like I said do some reading before you assume you know what your talking about.
vBportal is based off PHPNuke which is bloated. PostNuke is drastically different from PHPNuke from a coding standpoint.
I have vB integrated with PostNuke and it's fast, and the power is much greater then any of these so called vBPortal or indexes can offer.

its still based on the nuke system, which makes it still bloated.
if you want to see a highly fast and powerfull CMS i can intergrate GSM with vB3 and it will fly faster and better than anything you could possibly imagine :)

GSM?
Anyways it was based on PHPNuke but the coding has been completley rewritten.
Show me a CMS that has more flexibility and power then PostNuke. With more modules and blocks that are highly configurable. Good Luck becuase there isn't one.

im sure phpbb has way more hacks than vBulletin, because theres alot less default features that need to be hacked in, and of couse theres all the ppl who want to hack it to make it vB but it still isnt vB and i still wouldnt use it :)
yes the code has been rewritten but its still a peice of junk. ive used them all, they all are not worth the time and effort to install into vB
GSM is gama site manager :) and even I can write an addon to it in just a few moments :P

You are free to use whatever modules or blocks you wish. My point is there are plenty of great modules that already extend the functionality and power of a product that is already good.
Like I said there isn't anything out there that can touch it. Hands down it's the most powerful open source CMS out there. And it's only getting better.
Then don't use the software plain and simple. If you want to use it great, but don't sit there and piss and moan becuase you don't think it's a good product. Obviously there are plenty of people including me whom think your wrong. And obviosuly there isn't a CMS that meets her needs besides PostNuke or else she would be using it. So the software you tout must not be a great as you think.
I am pleased you can write addons, :: round of applause :: Yes I can develop PN modules who cares.

Hello there Faranth! I don't remember asking your opinion on what i should use for my portal. I loved vBulletin and i also loved my postnuke site for all the modules that my friends and i found useful. I don't care about speed at all. I care about functionality and usefulness. Let me remind you that vBulletin is a Forum and not a Portal so there should be no comparison. And integrating both for their site is a matter of someone's preferences and you can't force or influence people's opinion by telling them that nuke portals are poorly written. If they're poorly written, how come thousands use them and lots of themes and nice modules are being created almost every month. and oh, i hope to use all the modules that i've installed. i have plans for each one of them. I'm not yet done with tweaking and the layout though and vBulletin is STILL one of my TO DO LIST here.
So please Faranth, if you can't help me with my problem and you understand the nature of my post, then you should respect my views. I need a hack but you start with your arguments.
I only welcome hints from people who already made the hack or those who have already implemented the postnuke/vB integration.
Regards,
Afterglow
