I am currently evaluating vbulletin (using a friends setup). What I find the most confusing is skinning this thing. When you purchase vbull...Is there a guide or some kind of documentation on this? Or maybe a tut site or something?
I am good with html and css but I seem to have troubles skinning vbull. Actually I have a few designs that I would like to offer free, But I need to figure out how to use them in vbull. BTW I plan on buying vbull regardless but I would like to know there is some kind of support for n00bs like myself.

looked through vbtemplates.com and they have a some but you have to pay. Does anone know where a site is that I can snag a free one. I just need to study how the slicing and subsequent html file is built. I actually have a skin made (in fireworks) I just dont understand how to get it into vbull and how to generate a .style file. And as an added bonus I have been unable to get to vb.com without getting from behind our firewall which is a no-no at my company. ANy help or insight will be great, I really want to recommend my company buy this product, but I gotta make sure I can have it skinned like in a few days after that....please help!!!!....pleez

You said you are using your friends board so ask him if he can add you to his license so you can access vbulletintemplates.com because that is really the only site I know of where you can ask about template modifications.

i did not know you can do that. He said he could get introuble for such a thing so he agreed to let me use his vb on my personal server at the office which is not connected to the public. I'll look into adding me, if it is free I dont see why not.

webshot you just need to be a licensed memeber. in vBulletin all the stuff is done by the template / style manager, if he is going to let you play around with it id suggest letting him let you play with 3.x as its style system is quite more powerfull.
