Hi,
does anyone has a bugtracker like this one on vb.com? I would like to add this to my site because it is much easier to have everything on one site than reading postings, pns and mails.

Agreed. It'd be neat if vb.com or someone else could release this hack ;)

I asked over at vb.com if their bugtracker would be commercially available and was told that the answer was no. My site needs something to track technical, staff and site development issues. Right now we use Mantis but people must register separately to use it.
If anyone has something equivalent that could be integrated into vB, I bet lots of people would be interested! :)

I know for a fact that a lot of people would appreciate it if vB.com would put their bugtracker up for purchase or even free download ("use at own risk" or so). or as a Hack. It's a very useful system and a great many people could use it.
I'd offer to rework their bugtracker system and turn it into a usable Hack release, but I don't think they'll go for it. They seemed pretty pent up on not ever making this thing public, for whatever reason... Ahwell :(

Come on, guys, how hard could it really be to make as a hack? You already have a db, so what else would you need for this? Just do some drop-downs to enter the info and some queries to retrieve it. Even me, who turns out only crap hacks, could probably pull something like this off. Kurafire, you could do this in your sleep. ;)
(Still waiting for my quotes.php file, sir. ;))

I did have a vB3 bugtracker but I didn't back it up when formatting my HDD. I'm defintely remaking it (I cant say when though)

I could, but it's not a big enough priority right now...
the quotes.php thing - did you mean you want the vB2 version, the admin panel file?

I need it for the vB3 panel. I have the vB2 quotes.php, but it won't even come up in vB3. Too much has changed in the Admin CP. ;)

ok, well, there -is- no vB3 version yet, so you'll really have to wait for a while, sorry :(
(though maybe I can try to get you a temporary script... dunno if I have the time for it though)

If you can just get it so I can read it in the Admin CP, I'll take care of the rest. ;)

I've started (Admin CP is not fully working yet) to port "todolist.php" to vBulletin 3.
It's very simple, but better then no tracker at all.
(I'de like to have smth. like Bugzilla or Mantis integrated with vB :))
http://www.planetliebe.de/vB/todolist.php
The path is / v b b/todolist.php (without the spaces) - the boards keeps changing that :(

KirbyDE, I think that looks great. Nice work! There is no hurry but do you plan to release it as a hack eventually?
Your system should be fine. Most people need something that the public and staff can understand, so being simple is very good because we do not want people to get frustrated. ;)

Catch-22|BL:
This isn't my hack - I just ported it to vB 3 (for internal use).
I've contacted the original author(s) to ask if it's ok to release the port (with proper credits of course), but haven't got a reply yet.
So we'll have to wait.

Bump
Is there realy noone who is going to make this one?
I´m shure that MANY Users would welcome this hack!
I mean a real "bug tracker" where users can post in a support forum and the status of the support is shown on forumdisply (don´t have to be as complex as vB.com but something similar would be nice!)

I'm going to make it (unless someone beats me to it with a satisfactory alternative), but as I said, it is low-priority for me right now.

That´s no problem
The only thing that counts is that someone is going to make it!
Thx in advance.
Can´t wait to get it cause it would help us alot cause we are still in developement state

I've been given permission from the original author of todolist (which I mentioned some posts above) to release the port I made.
I'll make it RC3 compatible (does already work in fact on my testboard but a bit ugly ;))
The port will be phrased and based on settings (rather then config-file like the original).
I'm als plannig to add some features (bug type/category, severity, some more filter options and possibility for users to add comments).
If all goes well i'll release it within a few days.

Take your time, KirbyDE. Remember you are a volunteer and your efforts are appreciated. :)
I humbly suggest you keep it simple and easy to use for the public. I know some people will encourage you to add dozens of new features, but if we want fancy we should use Bugzilla.

Being my team releases our own software applications something like this as a hack would be awesome.

OK, here are already some screenshots.
This hack is based on "Todolist" by RekiM who kindly gave me permission to make a vB3 port.
As I changed much of the original code I decided to rename it 'vB-Bugs'.
The front-end does already work 80%, there is only 1 feature left I want to add for the first alpha release: sorting.
The admin-backend still does require some work.
Features
- fully phrased
- GUI customizable through templates (no hardcoded XHTML)
- XHTML-compliant
- 1-3 additional queries required
- uses user-settings for pagination
- types, severities and states are fully user definable (through ACP)
Planned for future releases (if any)
- Subscription

That?s more then I hoped for!
I hope you get everything to work soon
* StarBuG wants to be the first who clicks install :D
I will watch this thread like a hawk hehe

Yep. Front-End is finished for now.
I am woking on the admin-backend currently.
Update
Backend finished 95% (not really, but it's ok for a first alpha release).
The only things left are some settings, tests, package everything and test the installer.
I think it will be ready tomorrow (well ... actually today if I take a look at the clock ;))
