View Full Version : same postid for multiple attachments causing problem on upgrade

When upgrading my vB2.3.0 board to Gamma, when it gets to the attachments table, I get errors, and I have narrowed it all down to the fact that my attachments table has the same postid for multiple attachments throughout the attachments table. Is there ANY way to clear this up?

I know within vB itself there is an option to clear out multiple threads (see: Update Counters - Remove Dupe Thread). I was wondering if the same thing can be done with the postid column on the attachments table? Perhaps a mysql query that can go through and automatically delete multiple copies of the same postid?

I think your best bet would be too ask over at www.vbulletin.com (http://www.vbulletin.com) for this one mate as it is a GAMMA problem not as the result of a vb.org hack :)

Also the fix might already be over there.

no, it is definetily the result of a vB hack.... one called "Multiple Attachments for vB2" which I added a while back. Whenever someone added more than one attachment to a post, it was attached to the same postid, so the attachments database messed up and the upgrade script is confused....

so taking the upgrade outta mind, is there anyway to clean up the attachments database WITHOUT having to delete everything?
