stop messages from bouncing around

how do I get the messages to stop bouncing around. when a thread is started it is at the top but as soon as a member makes a reply to an older one that one goes to the top I dont want this.
I am using VB 3.0 gamma.
anyone know how please help me out here.

I believe that there is options in the usercp in which order that you would prefer that threads to be arranged when viewing.

i only saw one for the way the posts are done not the way a thread stays in one place.
I know there used to be a way I had it before but I cant remember now. it was soimthing to do with dateline.
