I've noticed that www.dbforums.com has completly search engine friendly URL's (not just the archive, the whole forum).
There are no ?threadid=.... or any dynamic elements in the urls.
I am aware of how to achieve this by building an archive script, but not how to do this on the whole forum.
How is this done?

.htaccess and changing the templates. It's easy to do. Just search for .htaccess and you should find it.
