The Best hack for the VB template system

I think we all know that the VB template system is a little rough to work with.

I am trying to find the best hack on here that improves the overall template system and makes it easier to use. I have about 15 styles on my forum across several different venues. Can anyone point me to the better template system modification to make my editing of these templates easier?

I thought there was one hack that allowed you to span 1 template across multiple styles.

switch to vb3, vb2s template system is very powerfull to begin but not nearly as well done as vb3 :)
