My board runs very nice and beacuse of 1 mio. changes inside the code i really cant upgrade without sitting for month to change vb3.
When playing around with vb3 i found only one thing that i want to have, so i decided not to upgrade, but ask here if someone has done a hack to have all the javascript-stuff for editing text with [big] [size] and so on for vb2.x ?
Think this could not be so hard, when using the code for vb3 as an example how to do, isnĀ“t it so?

You mean you want the entire WYSIWYG editor in vB2?

I can assure you that it's not an easy task, the WYSIWYG editor itself runs via Javascript, true enough, but the processing of whatever you type is done through very intricate and complex PHP scripting, and integrating ALL of that within vB2 will be a very challenging task, as far as I can tell...

Isn't there a WYSIWYG editor already made for vb2 series? I'm pretty sure I saw one here. Do a search.

The vB2 WYSIWYG Hack doesn't really measure up in comparison to the editor native to vB3. I was also hoping to port over the vB3 editing system for vB 2.3.X as it it the only thing my board is lacking right now (in comparison to competitor sites running phpBB which, while not WYSIWYG does have a much better (and prettier) default message editor than vB2).
Has anyone so far attempted to retrofit the vB3 message editor into vB2? I'm pretty sure it'd be a very popular and well received hack. Especially by those of us who've hacked our vB2's too much to upgrade without losing a ton of features.
By the way Robert9, you might attract more attention to this thread if the title were something like "vb3 Style Message Editor for vB2.3.x" or such.

AFAIK nobody has and I'm expecting that nobody will - it just doesn't seem worth all the hassle, esp. considering the useful lifetime for such an amount of effort - while right now it may still be a wanted hack, it will only become less and less wanted as time passes and more people upgrade to vB3 because the hacks they've been waiting for have come out on vB3....
