This is related to the vb banner control hack: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=443496&postcount=142

Currently the rotating banners show up randomly for every template they're in, the first time it's retrieved. After that, on every other page that uses those templates, they come up right away and don't rotate anymore. Seems like it's cached and that the query doesnt happen. Is there any way to force the banners to rotate, instead of being cached? Coz now on showthread, a single banner shows up on every single thread. You have to refresh the browser to have it resubmit the request, and come up with a different banner. I also think that when it comes up as a cached banner, it doesnt count the view :ermm:

any recommendations? thanks!

You should probably ask this in the actual hack support thread since it is related to it.

Personally I would choose to use javascript to rotate the banner of if using php its probably something to do with the php code and I haven't actually looked at the hack, but I would use the random function.
