OK I'm sure there is a hack for this already and I have had no luck searching for it. What I have is a private downloads section on a non vb page. I have the downloads page protected so that a username and password is required to access the it. The problem is that the download links are not. Anyone can enter in the files URL and download the file. My question is how can I prevent unauthorized access to the files directly?

I'm using VB (Version 2.3.0)

Thanks

You can use htaccess for the files. Ask if you need more explanation on htaccess :)

Yes! I would need more info on that. I have used htaccess where the username and passwords are stored in a text file but have no clue how to use it with vb usernames and passwords.

Thanks

Ah, with vB username and passwords, I'm sure someone else knows more about that then I, because I haven't used htacccess with vBulletin for some time now (no need to, for me :))
