Hi all,

I had to create a private, password-protected forum for certain members who are beta testing for us. How do i prevent the subject line from showing up on the "who's online" display for the messages that post in this private forum?

Cheers,

Talis.

By default, it won't anyway, provided that their usergroup does not have access.

Maybe that's something in a later version. We're still living in version 2.2.6.

I created a new usergroup for them so forum access is available only to that usergroup and to admins/mods. Even so, regular members who are not in that usergroup can click on the "who's online" link and they see the subject line of those private messages. (If someone online is in the private forum, reading or posting a message.)

When members click on "new posts" or use the search feature... they only see what they are allowed to view according to their usergroup permissions. And since we're using vbPortal for our home page, I've also excluded those forum id's from our "most recent messages" listing.

But all members see the thread subject line still on our Who's Online page.... including those in our private/protected forums.

Someone? I remember there was a hack that lets you define how the WOL links appear... can't find that.
