FREE or not FREE???

Hacks are what I am talking about here...

I know that a lot of time goes into making them, as I have made a few myself...

So the question for the day is...

Do you try and sell the hacks, or offer them up for free?

Steve is dead-on correct. While I've released around 40 (at last check) free hacks here, I also sell more complex hacks as well as occasionally write custom hacks for people.

Anything you can download from here is free.

Indeed, i'll be porting my vb3 hacks over when i get the time as well as developing a few new hacks but a few of the complicated one's i've been working on such as a battle system, gambling on fixtures hack etc - those I plan on offering for a small fee :)

hacks you find on vb.org -> free
hacks you get on other ways -> depends on author

I have been running two VB boards for a couple of years now, and installed some hacks that I have found here... And I have enjoyed them, as well as keeping my visitors happy on my sites...

For the most part you guys are awesome!!!

I guess the reason that I am asking, and have not released any hacks here, but I have a couple as well, and modified some that I have got here... I was thinking of posting mine, but have put a great deal of work into some of them, and wanted to get the general take on if hacks really do sell, for a small fee, or if the general public now expects them for free...

You can sell them if you want, of course, but you can't advertise them here.

Remember that if you modify somebody else's hack, you must ask permission before redistributing it, whether it's for free or not.
