disable hostname lookups?

I'd like to be able to ban by IP only - I've got a small board (~250 users, ~30k posts) and everyone gets along just fine. I don't have any need yet to ban email domains, so is there any way to turn off hostname lookup in vB? I figure it'd speed up the forum a fair bit.

I already have hostname lookups turned off in Apache.

Which option of VB are you exactly talking about? Vb does not solve hostnames to IPs in registration page, does it?

AFAIK only IP-hostname look up is in who is online page (which can be turned off in vb options) and this is irrelevant with IP ban.
