I think there are some new features that will make hacing easier.
It will now be easier for hack writers to update their original posts with updated versions, because they will be able to remove attatchments from their original posts. So people will not have to search through an entire thread to download the latest version.
Can anyone else think of others?

As a matter of fact hackers were able to update/delete attachments in their posts in VB2 too. The difference is now they can attach more than 1 attachments to their posts and I agree that this is handy. :)

exactly, 10 screenshots in one post is much better than 10 screenies in ten posts :)
an it's just the beginning :)

Have you enabled user attachment filesize restrictions, or are we free to upload as much filesize as we need?

Good good...
One final question - What are the thumbnail width and height pixel values set for?:) They look kind of small...

Oh right;)
I guess images get shrunk in relation to how much they are shrunk width wise;)
I posted a 110 x 22 pixel image, and it shrunk to about 100 x 20 - Guess it was just small on the eyes;)

Hmmm. Which version of vB2? I seem to remember a lot of people having problems with updating attachments, because there was no way to delete attachments or change the filename.

vb.org was using some custom hacks of Chen for attachments but even without hacks you are able to delete/modify/upload new attachments for your post in edit post page in default vb 2.x. I'm not sure since when it is so but I don't remember any version that I didn't see this feature.

hmm, nope i think it was never a standart feature in vb2.
but i can't say for sure.
i just know for sure that on vb.org it was possible since a long time

In vB2:
You can edit attachments
You can delete attachments
You can upload an attachment to a post with an attachment (this will overwrite the existing attachment)
You cannot upload an attachment to a post which originally had no attachment without hacking
You cannot upload more than one attachment to a post without hacking
:)

This is a screenshot from unhacked vb2.3.0 (at least unhacked as far as attachments are concerned). As you can see you can delete the current attachment or change it with another attachment. ;) As a matter of fact apart from multi-attachment feature it is no different than VB3.
The attachment hack in vb.org was in preview post page. Due to the restrictions of Javascript, post preview page was losing the attachment and Chen applied a hack which saves the attachment in database to keep it in preview page too. There is a long discussion about the technical view of this hack in Site Feedback forum and if I recall correctly, Chen also released the hack in Full Releases section.

ok I concluded that this VB3 has a kind of AI and knows -if not feel- very well that I don't like her so she is doing her best to thwart me in this forum thus no matter what I do I can not add the attachment to the post above. :p Sorry about it, blame VB3.
But if you go edit page of any post with attachments in any VB2.3.0, you'll see what I mean.. :D
