I know I'm not the only person to say this, but it looks majorly odd guys...
Where is the smilie box at the side of the new thread/reply screens?:)
I'm sorry guys, but I'm not sure vB.org is the same any more...
Just my 2 cents... Maybe it's just the newness of it, but it doesn't feel the same...

erm, i don't know what you mean, i have a smiliebox at the left side of my textarea, maybe you shouldn't use the wysiwig editor?
.... it's so wellknown, claiming all others are making mistakes instead of lookint to one self :)

Sorry Xenon, but the showthread seriously needs some work done...
Especially the placement and font of the "Go To First Unread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=56918#post432733) https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/images/darkblueimages/firstnew.gif (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=56918#post432733)" part...
Could you activate the smilie box for WYSIWYG? It's rather annoying to have to click the little smilie dropdown...
I don't mean to be negative, but it just isn't the same...

The style needs some tweaking. Basic vB3 default with a color change isn't quite enough.
But, when you switch to the RC version, you still plan on using that style from the contest that begun some time again, right? :ninja:
At any rate, are we now allowed to post vBulletin 3 hacks? I'm only asking because I got that notion from the home-page announcement in the part that reads "Enjoy and happy hacking again." (since I don't believe much hacking has been going on for a few months now) :p

i cannot agree more.
ok, i can close the board again for a day or two and fix everything, also you can't make everyone content.
as for showthread, i was a bid by mist, which i've fulfilled in a short time, as said i don't like dark blue at all

@Velo: yes we'll use the style we get from the contest.
As for tweaking (i know myself) but we won't change too much for now as upgrading to RC should stay as easy as possible.
Please stay patient, or the result is i'll close vb.org for a week and do the tweaking in a calm week for me ;)

as i say give it a few days, if i still can't get used to it, i'll change style as i'm here as much as at my board and you take this place away and i've got nothing to do while i should be working :stare:

Look Xenon - I am not the kind of guy who will moan for the sake of it - The few styling issues are all that needs addressing, and a little getting used to vB.org as vB3...
Other than that, thats all that is at fault...
You will never please everyone, but the styling faults take a maximum of 5 minutes to rectify...

Content and the purpose of the forum (to post stuff) is more important than just a few flaws in design. I say just gradually fix the tweaks. That's what most webmasters do when they first put up a new design. There is no reason to close the forum just because one or two people can't adapt right off the bat.

I don't mind. It was bound to be upgraded eventually, it's good to see that it is over with. And Velocd was right on, the content is the important part of the boards. :)

There is not being able to adapt, and alerting of design flaws so they can be addressed;)

will get better in time - best to give em time really as everyone would have minor probs after such a upgrade and they did quite well to get it back so soon.
I dont like the design either but i can live with it.

That can always, and probably will be tweaked. What did you expect them to do in less then two days? ;)

Great job to the people who did the upgrade.
As to the whining, we are all administrators somewhere so why be disrespectful to our peers?

By default some of the things like "Go to first unread" are not like they are on the Dark Blue scheme on other vBulletins, which suggests it was a css / alignment problem caused by template editing, and therefore may be something someone missed, and myself and some others have alerted them to the mistakes...
To all you people who say that the members and content make a community - Part of the content is the style, therefore by your own admission, there is something that needs to be done;)
@wolfe - Yeh... Perhaps they missed the setting? I know I did the first time I looked...

Well I don't like it either but this is nothing to do with vb.org but related to VB3. It has a new look and we are so accustomed to the feel of VB2 that we feel using a different kind of bb software. Buttons are in different places, all bb pages are more cluttered with things that has no purpose and everything looks so alien.
Frankly speaking there are bb scripts around that looks more "vbulletin" to me, than vbulletin 3.x.
I'm hoping that this is a transition period and we'll get used to it and again start feeling that this is our beloved vbulletin (and vbulletin.org). If I don't feel it this way, you can bet that I'll be the first hacker starting relasing VB3 hacks which will make it look like (function like too?) VB2. :)
Once again this alienism has actually nothing to do with vbulletin.org and kudos to our Admins who worked hard and made a very nice and quick upgrade!

In time, you will get used to it. :) When vB went from 1 to 2, it was the same culture shock. :)
As long as I can post, I'm ok, I agree there's a lot of design issues and trivial problems, but I'm sure these will be fixed ;)

I like it, but the templates do need attention before I'm upgrading. I did and reverted back. Why bother hacking it to make it look good now and then they finish the templates design for vb 3 final and you have to upgrade again and re hack the look?
2.3.2 will do just fine for now. Looking forward to a final though, the new tools and options are sweet.

Good point. :) When RC is released all templates will have changes anyway.
