personally i like the changes....
besides you should keep a list of what hacks you installed
just do a search for them

all these categories already existed :)
Perhaps what would be a better idea is to make them a sub-forum of a sub-forum?;)
Full Releases > Hack Categories > The Hack Forums
They take up the entire screen, and require alot of scrolling to view the threads...

i'll close the full releases main section and will change it into a "category"
no new hacks should be in there, as every new hack should be sorted in the categories
--> no scrolling needed :)

yeah either that or put em below, or being the ingenious hackers you are, put em on a whole new something.php page ;)

When I checked last, there were still threads in Full Releases, but maybe they are the remnants of those who haven't yet been sorted...

all hacks which have been in the hackdb have been moved into their category.
the remaining were not enterd into the db as most of them seem to be older ones.
When some of our mods got bored, they'll move the rest :)

Hey xenon, does Erwin also do configurations on design and Admin-CP stuff for this vBulletin 3 upgrade?
Erwin

Yes. :) Xenon did most of the upgrade. I just added pieces of code here and there, and now, most of the template rearrangements. :)

i hope you get the hacks i've installed back asap. yes i should have tracked them own my own, but why when it was available here? i used to use it as bookmarks for hacks that i may install, now i have no idea. it will be back, right? with all data intact?
this is just my opinion, but seeing as we can't discuss or post hacks about vb3, i don't think it was right to upgrade to it.

Sorry, but is there any reason for it?
That would be the same as if i'd say it was wrong to buy and drive a Porsche, because i cannot build one myself.

The data is intact...
It won't be long before vB3 will be an RC, so we won't have to wait long...
I for one hope that they port the [disable] hack over, and release it along with the /me hack;):)

i understand where 7thgen is coming from tho, basically you're all saying don't hack vb till it's gone RC as they need to be able to assess the bug and problems but you're here hacking it and what not and yet still not allowing hacks to be released. but meh since i aint upgraded i don't mind altho my mouth is now watering at the thought of coming up with a new style.

you upgrade to give new functionality, not take it away. I realize you spent lots of time on this, but I think it would have been better to spend more time and wait, get everything integrated like it was before, then release.
Your analogy doesn't make any sense. You guys sit here and hack this thing all you want but tell us we can't even talk about it. It's like dangling candy 2 inches from a baby's reach.

However this is an Official Jelsoft site, and they would not have authorised the premature upgrade of vB.org should it cause problems in their bug tracing...;)
vB.org will simply not allow the public release of hacks to the community until RC - That doesn't stop people hacking their own boards;)

my analogy makes as much sense.
vb3 hacking is allowed. vb3 hack releasing or requesting is not allowed on jelsoftsites right now
one has nothing to do with the other and so my analogy is perfect.

LOL! :)
RC is not far away. Be patient. Trust me, it's better we go to vB3 now, than when RC is released - best to have the hack database all ready, the install hack ported over, to get ready for the vB3 hacks.

I was cought completely off guard with this loss of the hacks database. I know which hacks I have installed, I still have the files I downloaded so I can remove them, but I have not been able to find many of the threads for these hacks.
That one feature alone has me really angry about this loss.

The current subforums in the Full Releases forum should correlate closely with the old hack database categories.
