Hey all,
This is not a direct request for a hack... But more a plea for suggestions.
I'm new to these parts and just start playing around with vBulletin...
I won't say it too loud, but I'm a VB.Net and SQL server child...
Just starting to play with php and MySQL.
So now that the intros are aside, here's the question:
I was wondering if anyone has worked on a download tracking manager. Simple little thing to track who downloaded what.
I had more then one idea.
1st, auto-PM to the mods and admins... simple, clean, just insert a line into the 'privatemessage' rable. downsides, if it's a popular item, talk about pm floodding.
2nd, throw in another table and build another template to track who downloaded what. Downsides. With my current knowledge of php, might take me awhile.
3rd, keep a thread in a private forums for moderators only and kept concatenating the origional post with the new downloaders.
4th, build a text file directly on the server...
Anyone played around with something of the sort. I have found certain hacks with respect to attachment, but nothing with download tracking.
Anyways... Any help or suggestions are always much appreciated.
