download thread/post as pdf

Hey :)

I've seen a function to generate pdf with php some time ago and i was wondering if there's a chance to use this for vB.
Maybe as an extra option for premium users.
Like you have a link at the top of the topic and after clicking it, php generates a pdf-file that contains the whole thread and that you can download and browse offline.
Would be a nice thing for forums which help users with certain problems. Those can download the pdf and archive it :)

PDF version can be possible but not suggested as PDF forming functions of PHP is too server intensive and put a big burden on the server.

i thought pdf was a good choice because all images etc. would stay intact :)

The one thing that I was thinking is that if there was a PDFing function available it could redirect to an alternate server which could do the work. So on a budy site a secondary server could PDF documents for you. In my case a server that's doing other work but not to busy to handle this, and there would be a minimum amount of burden on the site machine, just the pull of the entire thread which could be a heavy enough burden on it's own.
