Visible Forum, Invisible Thread

[Cal Poly Forum]

How would I make each forums visible to the public but when the visitors actually click on the thread, it requires the visitor to log in or register in order to view the thread.

I saw this on certain board , version 2.3.0.

If I understand the request correctly, this wont actually do the trick because in that case threads list will not be displayed either. ;)

That is exactly what I had in mind.
The above did suffice my needs but your hack is a greater hack. =)
