Hack Question

Hi everyone, I was thinking about purchasing vBulletin but I had a question first. Is there such a hack that will duplicate another board? My buddy has a vbb and he was trying to install an irc hack on his board, but has some problems with his ISP. So I was curious if there is a hack that would basically scan his board and transfer new threads from his board to mine so I can try the IRC hack on my host.

Make a Backup of his data base and make sure you are running the same version as his vbb and bame ur good to go!

I want it to do all of that automatically and update mine automatically. Would that be possible?

If you mean a real-time update (posts made in his site show up immediately in yours), it's nowhere near sanely possible with vB. However, if MySQL supports something where data is written to two database, it might work. However the two sites would have to be exactly the same.

if i have more licenses is it posible to run multiple forum on the same/different server with one userdatabase ?

Not with the same user table and different everything else. The two fora have to be essentially identical.

It's possible, as your MySQL database can be remote, but I've never seen it done yet. But it's been discussed here as well as at vB.com. Do a search.
