View Full Version : phpnuke and vb in same db...is this safe?

I've been dinking around with the idea to incorporate phpNuke into my site, and I have been torn as to whether or not to dump all the tables into the same dB as my vBulletin. This would make it extremely easy for me to call up information (latest posts, recent gallery pics, etc.) instead of having to link to two databases.

Has anyone done this? Is it safe? Should I even be considering it?

Provided the tables don't have the same name then it shouldn't pose any problems. phpNuke probably allows table prefixes to prevent this.

PostNuke has table prefixes :) I have vB & PostNuke running together on 2 sites perfectly.

I'd read up about PHPNuke vs PostNuke, at least security and performance-wise.

Actually, I was just checking into this. There seems to be alot more Open Source Support for PostNuke, and PHPNuke tends to be very buggy.

The schemas are almost identical, so I am gonna give it a whirl and see what I can do.
