Auto-approve by email domain...

I'm moving a forum over from phpBB to vb, and will set up the forum for admin approval of all new users.

The client, however, would like certain users to have instant access/approval. All these users share the same email domain.

So...I'm looking for a way to have new registrations require admin approval EXCEPT when the email address has that magic email domain. This is sort of a reverse banning hack...instead of domains NOT to let in, this would let in the list of domains, but hold any others for admin approval.

When you say "approval", what exactly do you mean? Which exact setting?

You can do this by simply running an SQL query, unless I'm thinking something different from you.

For me ~ I would like to see an option that would let me only accept certain domains for users' e-mail addresses as opposed to the way it is now ~ a disallow list.
