I posted this in "help me finish" but nobody ever answers in there :( Sorry for the duplicate thread, i just need some help:

Hey yall, my users are complaining that since i installed the quick reply box, none of the letters are being marked as read, they stay closed, hence the "find new posts" link doesnt work anymore. Could you please instruct me on how to fix this?

His hack is at: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/show...y=&pagenumber=1

Thanks.

That link leads nowhere. I assume you're talking about FireFly's quick reply hack?

none of the letters are being marked as read

What letters? You mean threads? Forums?

Also, it might not be the quick reply hack causing you these problems.

No Tech posted one, i dont know why it isnt showing up. I meant the Threads are keeping the closed envelope image even if you read the thread... for some reason once I posted this hack in my vbulletin, the threads stopped being marked as read. Any ideas?

This is the link: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40380&highlight=quick+reply+box

Closed envelope means that there are no new posts.

Please read the icon legend at the bottom of a forum.

Dude, I dont mean to sound rude, but i'm not vbulletin illiterate. When I installed the hack, it did something to the coding that makes it show up as an un-opened thread, even though it's already been opened. You can view at www.amidreaming.org/dreamers - the users have been complaining since the day i put up the hack.

If you open the thread, it will keep the New Posts icon. It's like this on all vBulletins. The icons will change to the No New Posts icon once your cookies have timed out since you last visited the board.

Is there a hack to make the icons change as soon as you have finished reading a thread.... I really dont like the way it still shows things as unread even when you just finished reading them. :(

Well, there IS the mark this forum as read button.

You can also lower your cookie timeout limit.
