Invalid SQL: SELECT user.userid, usergroupid, username, email, password,ac tivationid, dateline FROM user LEFT JOIN useractivation ON (user.userid=useractivation.userid AND type=0) WHERE email='EMAILADD'
mysql error: Column: 'usergroupid' in field list is ambiguous

When do you get that exactly? And which file? Please copy and paste the browser once you get this error.
You'll have to find the usergroupid in this SQL, and change it to user.usergroupid.

Re-download vBulletin from http://www.vbulletin.com/members/ and replace your current files with those ones. Then, re-install your hacks.

The database is completely separate from the hacks you installed, unless you made some database modifications for your hacks. Just keep your old database, and things will work anyhow.
If you do what I suggested, then you shouldn't run into any problems.
