Did anybody actaully integrate the 2 yet? I found a thread about it, but it died like 1.5 months ago..

This is something I've been wanting to bring up as well. Both programs are undergoing significant changes, and I feel this would be an ideal time to work on some sort of integration project.

First, a little info on PhpNuke. It is a weblog program modeled after the popular www.Slashdot.org. It's open source, but the problem is the creator of the program hasn't been open to suggestions in the past. People have fixed his code, but he neglected to ignore it. Finally, only about a week ago, a parallel project was announced. Over 20 developers have signed up to give PhpNuke much need improvements to speed it up and fix all the bugs. The parallel project will work with nukelite, the guy who runs PhpNuke. Hopefully, about a month from now, a stable and effecient version of PhpNuke will be ready and would be a great addition to a number of vBulletin sites.

As we all know, vBulletin is also about to enter a significant new phase with version 2.

Both programs have so much promise and benefit to websites, it a shame not to have the ability to unify them. vBulletin is the best forum around, and soon PhpNuke will be the best php weblog. If I knew anything about programming, integrating the two would be my first priority, but unfortuneatly I don't. Some way to share the user database so that a user can login and post to either Nuke or vBulletin would be ideal. This is a little longer than I intended, but I really hope it turns someone on to integrating the two.

Actually, it's a 'hacked' version of Atthat (Thatware).
Not that there is much of the original left anymore.

Well, the guys over @ phpnuke.web.id are integrating Nuke with PHPBB.. they've already tied the member login info for nuke & the bb together.

I noticed something on that site about phpbb and php nuke.

I wish someone would make a hack so php nuke and vbulletin can join into one.

I may have a go at this if I can understand vBulletin's User Database.

Am I right on these things: vBulletin and PHP Nuke have to share one database in order for PHP Nuke to use vBulletin's database? I have to edit some code in the signing up file and login file of PHP Nuke?

If someone tells me about those things and guide me with the way users are handled then I maybe able to create this hack.

I am not 100% sure on PHP but I know bits of it.

I know noone who creates these hacks gets paid really.. I was just wondering if someone could create a hack that ties the user database between the 2? So if you signup for one or the other..

Thx.

Thats what I want and a few people said they were going to it but we hear nothing more about it.

I dont want to go with phpbb since I have a vBulletin Board that has almost 1500 posts with 115 users in its almost 2 months life.

I never made a hack before but I am willing to try this but i need to know those things in my last post!

on phpnuke can you make your articles spawn several pages. IE say 5 pages?

Thanks...

I found geeklog to be far better in my personal preferences, and i used the Geeklog / VB integration hack, it is super, and works cool.

Geelog looks pretty ugly. I've never been a fan of threaded discussions, like you find on Slashdot.org...

Yes the skins it comes with does look ugly :( I like the phpnuke skin theme :)

Does anyone know what or how to change the order of the right / left blocks?
