I think it would be a fine add-on for the FTP Erwin hack or just a standalone option.
The admin can upload zip files that ar:

1) Unpacked
2) Remane packed / no changes
3) Zip the MySQL backened DB
4) Zip some files he chooses.

I love zip files.

I recently beefed up my thread downloader by including zip functionality. :D (it's not public yet, but don't tell anybody ;))

It could be even better, if it would be an addon for vB FTP Erwins hack, doen't you think? How soon it'll gonna arive?

My hack is a download thread hack.

I haven't been able to get vbFTP to work very well. :(
