Is there a risk?

Hi,

Is there much of a risk to set up a forum and have people post on them while you customize and install hacks on it? I mean, when installing customizations/hacks, do you think you would have to worry about the hacks malfunctioning and end up deleting posts in the mysql table?

Just curious.

I have a local version I test all hacks on first, before uploading them to my site. It works a lot better like that, plus you're not changing files that are in use.

While the risk is minimal that it will corrupt your database doing that, it's better safe than sorry, right? Always close your board when uploading new files over old ones.
