Changing the admin directory name will break a lot of stuff. However, search and ye shall find.

Apparently there is already help on this. Filburt said to search, so it has to be in a forum somewhere.

i think it's described on vb.com :)

but you just have to change all admin/ calls in your files, you won't find more information, as this is all ;)

as i said, you have to rename admin/ reference in all files which have it in them.

Use something like Notepad and use the replace option. Save a lot of time... (assuming there aren't any other admin/ uses...)

Why does it reference it as admin/filename.php?

As all the admin files are in the same dir why can't they just use include("filename.php"); ?

Maybe some root files require the admin folder? I'm not sure though.

global.php in the root directory will need to require config.php which is in the admin directory. Also some of the redirects and even template links point to admin locations.

there are files which are needed in every directory but just stored in admin/

best example like filburt said is config.php or functions.php....
also the mod/ files have some references to admin/

ok good Could it be an option on the future in the admin area...

in vb3 you can change the admin dir without changein anything except the config file :)
