I wish they didn't. One of PHP's functions is to generate the PHP logo, and its even documented that it does stupid stuff on April 1st. If I ran a professional site (well, another one) and put that logo on it, I'd be ++++ed off. MS goes so far as to fire people who put in easter eggs which I can sortof agree with.

tis just abit of fun..

if it werent for the "easter egg" then we may never have had cheats in videogames after a certain man decided he`d add a secret room in a game way back in the days of the atari st in which lay nothing but a small egg that the player (a dragon) could move into and upon that the player recieved a nice little message.. thus the first easter egg and the birth of what is basically cheats in video games..

but hey i agree no more of em cheats ruin games and unless ur little easter egg actually lets users perform an additional and usefull thing then your really just wasting resources i guess..

and filb on a personal preference i would never use the php logo thru the in built function as from a design point of few its a bit iffy in terms of you cant resize it or alter it, which although technicallly u shouldnt (copyrights and such).. well i just wouldnt but each to there own :D and i it aint broke fix it etc etc..

still im in favour of easter eggs as long as they have a purpose other than hey thats funny!

it would also seem this easter egg is somewhat random i got this result when i added it to a page conatining only <?php ?>
