MSN 6 Tab Hack

Ok well i didnt really do much to make this hack other then modifiy NanoEntity's Top 10 Hack, so I take no credit for this whatso ever, the purpose of this hack is to show a slimlined list of new threads, that can be displayed nicely in a msntab.

All say this one more all credit goes to NanoEntity.

you'll need something to create a xml file for trillian.

Also if you install the vBAssitant hack you can use the URL of the vBAssistant as the content url for the MSN tab
and if you use virtua news like my self.
you can just use the custom page modules remove the header info and footer info
use the
$recentpost[#] tag and use the url of the custompage as the content url for the tab.

alerts threw msn?
you would have to have some sort of bot to message people with alerts if thats what you were meaning. Or a script capable of connecting to the msn servers, and messaging people it would take alot of resources from what I can figure.

also sometimes signing in out dosnt work you have to close msn/edit file/ save file/ reopen msn.... i see your running a non english version of msn6 beta all see if the tab settings are diffrent....

Of course, I run an French version of Msn6 b?ta. But all menus are similars... I don't understand where is the problem...

I don't think you can How ever you can get an alert to popup when theirs a new pm.

And if your able to pm them when a subscribe thread is posted in that might work.

well in the template for your msntab
insert the headnewpm tag
$headnewpm into the head section of the template

if your using virtuanews like me you might also want to add $welcometext

not sure I haven't installed this hack but check the php file for a line that says excludeforums and put in the forums you want excluded. If not maybe the author can create a patch

trillian uses xml files, this really shouldnt be too hard to make for trillian.

i read this after i install. if you could posibly add or find away to refresh it would be nice. or if anytone knows how to in msnmsgr

add this in the head section of msn6tab template

and ofcoarse replace the address with that of yours.

and replace the ten with the amount of seconds....

It looks like the ConfigCache.xml get's refreshed by MSN after a week or so.

Very strange, i even tried to set the attributes to the file as 'read only. But that didn't work either...

Would be cool if we could get this baby to work properly..
