Is this really bad for showthread?

With 10 replies per page:

Page generated in 0.40982997 seconds (83.17% PHP - 16.83% MySQL) with 31 queries.

With 20 replies per page:

Page generated in 0.71190596 seconds (81.11% PHP - 18.89% MySQL) with 32 queries.

I was recently testing to see if I had a query loop somewhere since I installed an RPG hack and the Store hack, and I used to have 64 queries at once before (when I used vb2.2.8).

Is 31 queries good for showthread?

I just found out something weird in my View Profile page: if I view my profile I get 32 queries, if I view another member I get 40 queries. If I view a member with 1 post I get 23 queries. I do have installed the Last XX posts by user (afterlab) with post preview. Both profiles viewed had 20 posts listed, yet there is an 8 query difference.

That's about normal. The variation can be caused by how you get to viewing the thread (lastpost, direct, etc.).

31 queries is not good, but it's also not bad.

We get 48 queries with 16 posts with about .5 generation time.

I have about 70 queries on showthread - That is on 40 posts per page though;)

I have 42 on 15 per page;)

I am, however, re-coding the entire site, so these numbers will be irrelevant in a few weeks:)

21 queries on my showthread. :) I wouldn't go above 25 since it is the most used page next to index.php.

Actually, showthread.php is the most used page, and THEN its index.php ;).

I hope vB3 has a very query-unintensive showthread...
