I'm getting that error running VB 2.3.0. The last thing I installed was that "mini pm field" hack that changed the size of the pm table and stuff.

Reupload the original functions.php file from the 2.3.0 zip file. Make sure you upload in ASCII and overwrite the one on the server.

By the way your forums show 2.2.9. Are you sure you ran the upgrade23.php script?

How do I make sure I upload it in ASCII? I use winSCP to do all my uploading and downloading to my server.

You'll need to look at the documentation for your FTP program. Most of them automatically detect ASCII or Binary files.
