Is 38 queries bad for a postbit?
And is 24 queries bad for the main forum summary page?

I normally check the page generated time.

For me, .5 is just too much. I try to get it down to .3 or .2 as much as possible. But it varies with serverload. :)

38 queries is quite a lot for showthread. Also, check the time it takes to generate the page as well.

For a postbit, it's insane because no queries should be made in a postbit. In showthread, it's high.
24 is fine for forumhome although starting to get high.

sorry meant showthread.
Page generated in 0.13979399 seconds. mind u its only a test forum at present i have opened it to public yet. some tinkering needed me thinks

There's an optimization hack somewhere, just do a search.

38 is quite bit. Find out if it's something being looped - try increasing the number of posts per showthread page - if the queries increase per post, then you are looping something, and you should get rid of it.

how do i find the loop, cuz my showthread is 64 queries with 24 replies and 36 with zero replies. can u check it for me? if not where do i search for it?

Its probably some of the RPG stuff you added, I had the same problem (50 queries at 10 replies).

If you turn debug mode on, then add "&showqueries=1" in the URL, you can see the exact queries that are running.

We used to have 49 queries on showthread, and I found out that was because of the awards hack I installed. Now I cache the result, and we regularly have fewer than 35 queries. :)
