View Full Version : Admin Mail seen as Spam Workaround

I know that this is a common problem with some email services (aol and hotmail to name only a couple). Everytime I try to email a mass announcement to my registered users, 90% of it gets blocked, as it is seen as spam.

I know I can have my users set a preference in thier email to "always allow" my address, etc., but that is easier said than done!

Can someone write a script that would give me the option to automatically email everyone of my users INDIVIDUALLY, instead of having one large "TO:" field (that sets off the spam alert). In other words, if I had 100 users, it would send off 100 individual emails... one to each user. It would be a mailing list, but would execute sequentially, not en masse.

thanks!

The current system already e-mails everybody invidually.

Do you know why a mass emailing (sent individually) would be seen as spam then? Why do the alerts of a "reply to a post" come through, where an anouncement from the admin do not?

Because AOL is idiotic and screws up everything vBulletin does? Just a theory. ;)

There isn't much you can do. Try editing the emailsubject templates to something less spam-like.

I agree, aol does screw everything up.

As far as my subject line...ya mean "Consolidate Loans FREE, WIN a BIG one, naturally" would be seen as spam?!

hehe
