Xenon,

I had a bit of time to play with designs tonight, so put this together, I matched the background color to vbulletin.org, let me know what you think.

Below seem to be the two images everyone likes so far...

Obviously you couldn't use this as one of the current banners, but the type is really nice. I would suggest getting rid of the girl in the background, and using this as one of the banners for vB.org (with maybe a modified background, since I agree a bit with Mist).

The girl is nice, but when I said "obviously," I meant of course you couldn't have a vBulletin.org with that banner, it would distract the coding environment, etc. What I meant is use the banner without the girl, since it would be more appropriate, or add in some other kind of visual for the background.

The banner, no doubt, is nice either way.

The model's great, but the background, ya needs some work, get vb.org in some smaller 3-d letters or something and use that text to cover the "innapropriate" parts :D

Also keep the face wire mesh and not solid white.

Let me know what you guys want, and I can change, it, I saved the model in 3d max, and the banner / side etc, is in psd format, so I can start over, or change the current ;)

I thought I covered most of the um innapropriate parts ;) the guys here wanted me to do full nude ... ;)

the splash page I did for my personal site has more cloths ;) www.shukenja.com for those that want a gander..

I honestly think you should leave it as a wire frame, looks more progammer like, just fix up the background (not sure how) and add some cool 3-D text that covers whatever needs to be covered

I was thinking the same in the next version, and clean up the background a bit... I need the dimensions for the vb.org banner, if you want me to match it, and any other specifications you think needed :P

nope, it's a bug in vb's moderation system.
the devs forgot a visible=1 in some update thread counter functions, and when there are hidden posts the replycount of threadtable, which is used to generate the pagelinks on forumdisplay, is incorrect

well it's not too hard, but there are more than one file affected, so i don't want to do it, as it's not a real problem, and with vb3 there will be a lot changes...

have you see the vb3 code at all yet? other than view source? will be interesting to see how much has changed, and how to code new hacks for it :) I'm starting the learn how v2.30 is now :)

Most of the code has been rewritten for vB3. :) So all of us will need to get familiar with it.
